"I'll be out in a minute.." she replied as she had locked herself in the en-suite of hers and Julian's place. She looked at herself in the mirror. She then refreshed her face with some cold water, splashing it on her to her cheeks. She opened up the hamper and she saw the half depleted bottle of Henny laying where she had left it. She stared at it for a good few minutes before she opened it and gulped back the drink. She then proceeded to clean her teeth and put the bottle back in the hamper.
As she left the en-suite, Julian was sitting up in bed, he looked at her. "Are you okay?.."

"Yeah... I'm fine.." she lied. She climbed into bed next to him.
He pulled her in close for a hug and she faced him, stroking his beard. "I need my dad to get right...
"And he will, you know he will...
"You don't understand how broken the family becomes when mom and dad aren't right... it breaks us all..."
Julian looked at her, he knew she was troubled, she always had been. "You're grown now..
"I know... but I feel so sad... so lost... I honestly don't think that they will ever be normal..."
Julian sighed. "Lani.. yo focus should be me and Jayrah..." he told her as if he was annoyed.
"It is... but you don't have any feelings.. I know that!..." she snapped suddenly sitting up.
"What the hell does that even mean.." he said to her.
"You're hardly ever here... if I cry about anything or I'm upset you basically call me weak...
"Woah.. hold the fuck up I have never called you weak... what the hell is wrong with you.."
Lani had to take a deep breath. She was feeling it more than most when it came to her father. She wanted him to do better, to be better, and it was taking its toll on her because she wanted him to be okay. Lani felt that if her parents weren't settled then she couldn't be settled either. She had taken to drinking in a bid to feel better herself. "I'm sorry" she said to him. "I know that I am a pain in the ass to be with"
Julian nodded. "You are not wrong there... Listen to me, I love you... but you have to let yo mom and dad work out their own Demons... Me and your baby girl is what should matter" he told her and kissed her forehead.
Lani didn't say anything, but she was definitely already thinking about her next drink.
