Emily's POV
"Hey get your lazy ass off my couch" My best friend Jenelle screamed.
"Just five minutes more"I replied back groggily.
Jenelle and I had just moved in together after college ,she works in her own private business firm she owns,a year older and bossy too ,she has silky long black hair which is dyed blue at the tips,deep dark brown eyes,honey brown skin, she is African American like literally her mum is African Nigerian in particular while her dad is American from Denmark .
"You can't be telling me that, you're late for work"Jenelle said tapping me.
"Omg,shit what's the time "I said waking up immediately,I had totally forgotten that I am to begin work today.
"Some minutes to 10'oclock"she replied looking at her watch.
"I need to get ready quickly"I said rushing into the bathroom.
"You really need to stop sleeping in"Jenelle lectured me
"What were you doing last night"Jenelle
"I don't know"I replied
"Whatever, I have already prepared breakfast,I am leaving now "Jenelle
"Thanks, you're a darling"I replied
"I know,bye see ya"she replied and left my room.
"Bye"I screamed back.

I walked into the mess in my office files were everywhere, I can't believe I was gone for only two weeks and I already have this much work, I work as a matchmaker for the Renals lovers agency. I sat down to start organizing the files when my Personal assistant (PA) Rebecca walked in. She look formal in her pencil skirt and blouse with her usual stilettos, her black hair in a bun.
"I was only gone two weeks"I groaned looking through the files at least I have only five heartbreak to settle but the new matches were so many.
"I'm sorry Ms Emily, Mr Ronald didn't let me step into your office he insisted it was your slightly punishment for your short holiday "
She was always so formal. She began assisting me with my work, handing me the company tablet .
"It's Emily ,I have worked with you for five years now" I added , she gave me a knowing smirk . She always insisted that calling me my name was disrespectful ,even though we are friends.
“It will never change"
"What's on my schedule Becca" I asked as she took my tablet and looked at through.
"Nothing actually apart from the files in front of you. The whole company is less busy as Mr Ronald shut out coustomer for just today we are having a new CEO ".She said and handed me back the tablet.
"Fill me in on details Becca" I just had to know more Mr Ronald never mentioned a handover so this is more of a shock.
She settled down in the saet in front of me
"Well it all came as a shock to everyone last week as it was posted on the love board that we will be having a board meeting today concerning a new CEO "she explained further. For it to have been posted on the love board it must be really important.
"And no one has an idea who is getting promoted" I asked
She grinned from ear to ear " Rumors have it that it will be you given your position as No .1 on the love board for the past five years and the trust he has in you "
