"What the fuck Beth, he screamed." "Why is he texting you that he loves you?" "I should be the only person you love." "I'm sorry Mike but he's just a friend." Michael rushed towards me and I braced myself for what was going to come but instead he began to cry. "I'm sorry, he said." "I'm sorry I hit you, I just wanted to have sex because I felt like I was losing you. "I love you Beth, your more than my girlfriend, your my best friend." "But you gotta see how these texts bother me." "Yeah I guess I can understand that, I whispered." "So no more Javi, he asked." "No more Javi if you don't hit me anymore." "of course babe, I'm sorry that shouldn't have happened in the first place." He asked me to delete his number in front of him and I did. He then kissed me tenderly and we watched Netflix until he had to go home. I went to sleep smiling knowing that we were ok again.
It was 2 days since I spoke to Javier and I missed him terribly. He was texting me non stop and all I wanted was to answer but I knew I couldn't. Michael was a rage induced mess but I knew I could fix him. Speaking to Javier would have just delayed the progress.
Another 2 days passed by and I hear a knock at my door. It was Javi. "What the hell Beth, I've been so worried about you." "Why haven't you been answering my texts or my calls?" "Forgot to pay the phone bill, I lied." "Oh, well come on then." "My moms making dinner for us as we speak, he smiled." "Let's hit it, I laughed." We made our way to his house and I remembered why I missed him so much. Always smiling and always so kind. Every time I saw him he did this this thing where he stroked my hair back and put it behind my ear. This time he did it and leaned forward. "Javi I can't, I whispered." "I know, I'm sorry I don't know what came over me." "Sometimes I wish things were different between us Beth." "Well things are the way they are Javi, it's too late to change them now." "Yeah your right he laughed, forget I mentioned it." "No problem bighead, I laughed." "Takes a bighead to know a bighead he laughed. "But er....Beth?" "Yes Javi?" "I...Er...got you something." "What is it Javi?" He pulled out a beautiful gold bracelet with my name engraved on the inside and a beautiful diamond at the top. "Do you like it, he asked." "Like it, I gasped." "I love it...but Javi I can't accept this." "Shut up Beth we've been friends forever." "This is the least I can do for having a beautiful best friend like you for 10 years" "Happy early friend-iversary Beth." "Thank you, I said squeezing him with all my might." "It's perfect."
