Paris's POV:
Luke hadn't come back so I began to worry. I decided I should go look for them. I had forgotten Luke's warning. I took off into the woods, praying Ally and Luke were only lost. Then I saw what I was dreading. Ally lay on the ground, a note near her. And Luke, with a knife in his hand, was lying there also. I checked for a pulse. None. Both were dead.
Now I had questions. Did Luke kill Ally and did she kill him while she was dying? Or did the T.R.C. get involved?
Then I remembered the note. I read it out loud, "Poor "innocent" Ally. I never did like her. Good thing she's DEAD.
-the T.R.C." It didn't say anything about Luke. Did he kill himself when he saw Ally?"They're dead." I whispered to myself. Visions filled my head. First Ally flashbacks, then Luke, then today and what could've happened. It was all too much I ran deeper into the woods. Then I got a text.
Princess Paris always running
away from her problems.
You can't run away from
us.
-T.R.C.For once they were right. I had to go back to the lake house. I started my journey back. I had to walk past Ally and Luke on my way back. When I got to that part of the woods, I gasped.
"What the-"
Unknown POV:
"Seriously! You don't take no for an answer do you?" I said."Nope."
"Is that all you have to say? What have you done?"
"Shut up."
"Fine. But tell me the plan." I said.
"Gladly."
Paris's POV:
Ally's body was gone and there was another note. This one said:
Don't look for her.
But if you must know,
she's underground.
Hurry up and leave
or you're next!
-T.R.C.I decided to keep walking so I could get back to the house. As I walked I thought about how Caleb, I'm assuming, called Ally innocent in quotation marks. Then I thought of something.
Flashback:
It was a dark and stormy night and I was watching a scary movie. The suspense was building up and I was about to scream when I heard a knock at my door. I paused the movie and went to see who was at the door.It was Ally. She was wet and had bruises on her face.
"Ally, what happened?" I asked.
"Is there anyone else here?" she whispered.
"No, my parents are out of town."
"Okay," she said coming in.
Um- I- well, Caleb," she stuttered, "Caleb decided to, well go- who am I kidding."
"Paris, I tried to break up with Caleb, but he just, well."
"He hurt you?" she nodded.
I invited her to sit on the couch.
"And when I fought back, it got worse. And then it wasn't just physically painful but emotional. He brought up my p- past."
"What past?" I asked gently.
"Paris you have to promise me you won't tell anyone."
"I promise."
"You met me when I was 12, right?"
"Yeah."
"Well, when I was 8, there was a kid who hated me, her name was Leah. I was forced to play with her and she always tried to get me in trouble. One day she made it look like I was choking her and I was sent away to a mental hospital. I was there until I was 11. When I finally got out, I reinvented myself. My family had changed their last name and I changed mine also. They believe me now. I was a lot older when I came out so no one would recognize me. It didn't really matter though because we moved to Sailwood. And I have memories from it all the time and I can't deal. I don't know how Caleb knows, but he does."
"Oh my God, Ally."
"Don't tell this to anyone, ever!"
"I won't."
End of FlashbackWhat if Ally was lying and she really did mean to try to choke that girl? What if Ally was totally different than we all thought?
