Because the village is now without a leader, the village elders approach Jiraiya, one of the Third Hokage's former pupils, and ask him to become the Fifth Hokage.

"This invasion has showed us that we are in need of a new hokage." Koharu

"We also don't know how long Hiruzen will be incapacitated. Uzumaki said it would take a few weeks for him to recover. That's why we think you should become Hokage" Homura

Jiraya tells him he is not suited for position. And proceeds to nominate Tsunade for the position Because Tsunade's whereabouts are unknown, Jiraiya offers to go and find her with the stipulation that he be allowed to bring Naruto Uzumaki. The elders agree.

"Jiraiya from what we heard the Uzumaki is close with the Mizukage. With his help we can establish relations with the Mist Village." Homaru

"I will see what I can do."Jiraya

Few hours later
With Orochimaru

"Lord Orochimaru. You received a message from Danzo." Kabuto

"That old man. What does he want now." Orochimaru

Kabuto revived him through the curse mark.

Orochimaru read the message.

"So he wants me to kill Tsunade." Orochimaru

"Why would he want that." Kabuto

"She has been chosen to be the next Hokage. The position Danzo desperately wants." Orochimaru

"So are you gonna do it Lord Orochimaru." Kabuto

"I would rather recruit Tsunade then kill her. " Orochimaru

"What if she refuses" Kabuto

"I will kill her." Orochimaru

"Lord Orochimaru about Naruto do you know what power he used." Kabuto

"It was definitely not nature energy. He must have another source of power." Orochimaru

"He would make a great vessel." Orochimaru thought

Next day

Naruto was sitting in his favorite ramen .He was flirting with Ayame.

"I heard this is the place you go all the time to eat ramen." Jiraya

"Well if isn't pervy sage." Naruto

Jiraya sighs at the title Naruto had given him.

Jiraya tells him he has a mission to find a certain woman and he wants Naruto to go with him.

"Is she gonna replace the old man."Naruto

"How did you know." Jiraiya

"Just a guess." Naruto

"So are you coming with me." Jiraiya

"Sure." Naruto

At the gate

"Alright let's go" Naruto

Two outsiders have entered the village and have caught the attentions of Asuma Sarutobi and Kurenai Yūhi. Once confronted about their presence in Konoha, the two reveal themselves to be Kisame Hoshigaki, a renegade ninja from the mist village, and Itachi Uchiha, the man who singlehandedly murdered the entire Uchiha clan. Because the two are wanted criminals, Asuma and Kurenai try to apprehend them through battle but quickly found themselves outclassed by their enemies. Just as the two Konoha jōnin are about to be defeated, Kakashi Hatake arrives to save them both, his Sharingan making it easier for him to battle Kisame so Itachi asks Kisame to step down and let him personally take on Kakashi.
