02 | friends?

Today. he chose to drop by the record store since he had nothing else to do. Having a tiny bit of hope there he'll be able to see her again. He felt like it won't hurt to actually have a friend to talk and learn more about music right? Besides, she seemed fun to be around with.

"Hi, welco—" before she could even complete greeting, "Oh jaehyun! nice to see you again!" she greeted him with a happy smile just like any other would. "Oh hey," he reciprocate her energy and smile.

"So... still looking for Miles Davis?" she was quick to remember his favourites.

"Hmm...not really I tried listening to some of your recommendations it's good not gonna lie," he smile gently and her as his eyes wander around the record store. "Oh? Masayoshi Takanaka?" he replied to her with a nod. "I knew it! I knew you'd like jazz fusion mixed with a tiny bit city pop," she smirk confidently and chuckle.

"Never thought I'd like actually but thank you." he smile softly and walk over to look for the artist's records and discs.

A few moments pass and he found the perfect one that caught his eyes. He was all eager to listen to it at home on his vinyl. He looked over to her to ask for her opinion on his pick but all he saw was a sight of her busy explaining to a customer who seemed lost about certain things. It was clear he was new to all these, he felt like he was once him too. 'Confuse curious little guy who loves music.'

"Yup and all you have to do is just put the LP on your record player and it should be okay? unless it's broken?" she explained whole heartedly to him. Jaehyun watched her silently from afar, observing the way she talks, her gestures, the soft sincerity in her voice as she explains. He couldn't help but to smile at the sight.

Right after a few moments the guy had paid for his purchase and left, now leaving only the two of them.

"Oh I see good choice good choice" her eyes laid on the disc that he was holding. "Thanks." he mouthed softly as he walk over to the counter to purchase his.

As soon as she was done packing his, something in him was urging him to act upon. He stood there staring into space contemplating everything, mind wondering how'd she react, feel, respond, reject, accept, all sorts. But he knew exactly what he wanted so he went ahead and gave it a shot.

"Uh, I was wondering..." she hummed and look at him waiting for him to finish his sentence. "If we can exchange numbers?" he was now, as expected, red.

"Oh sure," she hands him her phone and vice versa.

"Oh, thanks haha," he gave her a smile as he took his phone back from her and return hers. "Hope we can be friends. I really need music friends haha" he chuckle a little at his saying. "Oh yeah I get it don't worry. I don't have that much friends either." she laugh it off with him.

"So...what time does the store usually closes?" he leans on the counter slightly and shot her a question to keep a conversation going.

"Erm..around 8? on weekdays and 9 on weekends." he nods, acknowledging her response. "I'm not a full-timer though," "Really? I thought you really were." his eyebrows were raised as he said that knowing all this time he had mistook her as a full-timer. "I mean, you seem so full-timer-ish" he laugh at his own saying.

"Full-timer-ish" she repeated after him and laugh. "I  guess you could say that, I work at least 4 days in a week" she shrug her shoulders. "Cool..." he nods and pursed his lips.

"What about you?"
"Me?"
"Yeah, what do you do? if you don't mind me asking of course,"

He shook his head at her, "Oh, im just a regular barista" his eyes fixed on hers as he waits for her reaction. "That's cool, super cool actually." her eyes lit up. "Is it hard?" he shrug. "When it gets busy it is I guess,"

Moments later his phone chimed from a text and it was getting pretty late so the two had to say their goodbyes.
