Narrator's POV:

- 1 -

Matt and Chris both stared at their brother who was quietly sitting on the couch infront of them.

They were very concerned.

They were going out to have dinner with a few friends (Malcolm, Trilly, Madi, Oliver, and Sab)

They chose to have dinner at Dairy Queen just because Chris and Madi craved ice cream. So to make it easier, they went there.

Everything was fine until Nick excused himself to the bathroom.
Nick doesn't usually talk as much as his brothers so it wasn't unusual for him to be quiet.

His little smiles and interactions were more than enough to indicate that he was having a good time too though.

However, when they finished they went to order ice cream like they agreed to do.
Nick told Matt and Chris he'll be going to the bathroom and will meet them downstairs.

They agreed and moved down.

But when Matt sensed Nick running late, he decided to go check on him.
When he was about to enter, Nick pushed the door open and walked out.

Matt noticed the expression on Nick's face.
He seemed upset.
He didn't even look up to see Matt.

He was startled when Matt placed his hands on his shoulders, kneeling down slightly to look him in the face.

Nick tried to avoid eye contact, his eyes seemingly teary.

He somehow shrugged Matt off, (even though Matt didn't really buy it he just didn't want to pressure him), instead he just took his hand in Nick's and they went back to the others.

Nick had already told Matt and Chris what he wanted beforehand, so he was handed his treat along with Matt's shortly after they arrived.

Chris was confused as to why they were holding hands but no one seemed to notice so he just let it go without questioning it.

Nick was quiet the whole time. Oddly quiet this time; awkward even.

He moved to the back of the group and walked alone after that; listening to the conversations being made while looking around the places they walked through. His ice cream cooling down his nerves a bit.

Madi, besides his brothers, noticed his discomfort and moved back so she was now walking with him.

His brothers tried to blend in so their friends wouldn't notice and make Nick more uncomfortable or anxious.

Nick enjoyed Madi's company even when it was mostly quiet.

They rest of the night went smoothly (almost) before it ended.

They had gone to the mall, the park, and walked around the streets creating their own activities.

When they got back home, they told Nick to sit on the couch while they have a small talk (in the kitchen)

Once they cleared their minds, they went back to the living room and stood infront of Nick; leading up to this moment.

Matt sighed and went to sit besides Nick.
Nick glanced at him before pouting and avoiding eye contact. Chris sat on the other side.
