'august' by taylor swift softly plays - alora sitting under a tree in her local park reading a book. despite this - she couldn't seem to focus. continuously zoning out, looking at everything but what she came here for. due to this, alora decides to slip her book bag into her bag, and instead just admire the view she had.
but, something was lingering at the back of her mind. returning after many years, the thought of the boy she loved is almost running back and forth - like the thought is unsure as to whether to settle in alora's mind or not. the uncertainty of what she wants continues to linger until her imaginative state is interrupted by the sudden erupt of thunder and heavy rain.
panicking at her book being in her thin tote bag, her speaker being the prime target of the rain, and her hair being freshly curled, alora quickly packs up her stuff and stands up, trying to not slip because of the fresh, sloppy mud.
attempting to speedwalk amongst the sidewalk and not look like a crazy teenage girl who cares too much about her hair and makeup, (apart from the 'crazy' part, she is all that, but we don't talk about it), alora spots a small gas station in the distance. speeding up her pace slightly, she makes her way over there.
opening the door carefully, alora steps into the store, her first sight being the cashier sat at the desk on her phone. "oh, hey ally!" she speaks, leaving alora confused, and spotting emmy. at the counter. working in a gas station?
"emmy?", alora starts, "what are you doing here?", she says, resulting in a confused look on emmy's face. "what do you mean? i've always worked here.", emmy replies. alora is in a complete confused state now. her and emmy are influencers, and emmy is sat here, working in a gas station? something isn't right.
