"I hope you can understand that I am involved with someone else," Childe stated stoically, taking a sip of his coffee. He sat down confidently, displaying an air of ownership over the place. With little interest in engaging in idle chat with you, "For all I care, you may have another lover as well, but please refrain from meddling in my affairs."
You felt a twinge of annoyance at his nonchalant words, realizing that he meant little to no harm in them. "I understand," you replied curtly. "I suppose we should only interact when it concerns work matters? It would be best to exercise caution, especially given the attention the media tends to give to any associations."
As your phone rang, you quickly excused yourself and left the room, leaving Childe to contemplate his thoughts. He had never truly conversed with you despite knowing you for some time. You had always seemed out of reach, with an air of superiority that both intrigued and intimidated him.
But his thoughts soon drifted to Lumine, his true love. She was everything he had ever wanted in a partner - strong-willed, intelligent, and strikingly beautiful. Unlike others, she had no interest in his inheritance or status; all she wanted was him. She was perfect.
Amidst his musings, Childe realized that he had never really known much about you. While your demeanor had always struck him as impressive, he could not say he knew much about you beyond that. Since he was a young child, he never made any effort to speak to you, assuming you'd ignore him.
