I hate how Snowkit was treated

Thats pretty much it.

It was just downright ableist. And this isn't the last time that Warriors would be ableist unfortunately

But this is just bout the treatment of disabled cats in general. when a cat is disabled, they just get sidelined and either just ignored, killed off, or put in the medicine den. Its kinda sad.

snowkit, like right after he got named, the language they used to decsribe him was already off-putting

like 'Speckletail didn't want to admit that there was something wrong with her kit.' HUH!? Theres nothing WRONG with being deaf. OBVIOUSLY, it makes their life harder and deaf people dont have as many experiences as people with normal hearing and stuff and they need extra care for things like communicating or whatever

but there is nothing wrong with it. that rubbed me the wrong way whenever they said that. describing deaf-ness as wrong or weird is weird.

and then FIREHEART is like

it said something like

'Snowkit would never experience the joy of hunting, going to gatherings, or sharing warriorhood with his clan.'

ERM????? WHAT????? like dude thats- bruh, just bruh

snowkit deserved better. he didnt deserve to get sidelined and immediately be put down as 'unable to learn' and stuff.  they shouldve given him a second chance, or maybe given him a different role in the clan as like a border builder or nest maker or something like that.

yes, in warriors a deaf cat would probably be unable to hunt, but thats pretty much it. you dont require hearing for fighting last time i thought??

maybe they couldve developed kitty sign language or something. Or maybe they couldve given him to twolegs!!

THEY DIDNT HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY KILL HIM OFF BECAUSE HE WAS DEAF!

and dont get me started on cinderpelt or whatever. she should've been able to become a warrior, or at least still be able to partake in some warrior duties or actually decide to be a med cat on her own.
