Diamond

Chapter 1

"Tag! You're it Diamond!" The pup squealed as he put a paw on Diamond.
"Grr, Why do I have to be it?!"
"Umm......Cuz I tagged you......"
"Oh right...."
Diamond hung her head and headed toward a tree. She put a paw over her eyes and started to count. The other 3 pups ran for cover, in a bush, or in a tree. She counted to 10 and turned around.
"Remember to keep your eyes closed, Diamond!" A pup called out while in a bush.
"Right, right."
Diamond closed her eyes and started to walk around.
"Is anyone in the water? Cause Mother said we can't get in the water while she's hunting!" Diamond asked.
"Oops, I seemed to of slipped into the water....Oops." Another Pup Lied.
Diamond sighed and headed towards the water. She used her nose to sniff out anything. It was hard to tell if there was a pup; It was a swamp, so many smells mixed together.
"No using your nose! That's cheating!" A female pup called out from the tree.
"Red, it's not cheating if I can't smell anyone! We're right next to the swamp, I can't make out the smells! Duh."
Diamond tried to veer away from the water, but headed straight into it due to her eyes being covered. She let out a yelp, and heard the others yell at each other.
Diamond sunk to the bottom, she couldn't swim, but she tried. She was losing breath, quick, but she soon heads someone splash into the water. Diamond felt a paw push her, then a mouth grabbed her.
Diamond was lifted out of the water but, then was dropped back in. She heard her mothers voice yell,
"Argh! I can't see her! The water is too murky! Diamond, try to move towards to clearer water!"
Though the words were muffled by the water, she understood what she was saying. Diamond moved along the bottom of the water, and almost reached where the clear water was, but something caught on her fur. She pulled and pulled, but it didn't release. She felt light headed, then realized she was losing her breath by struggling.
Diamond just...Gave up, and let go of all her breath. She watched as the bubbles reached the surface, and heard her mother jump into the water. She closed her eyes and everything blacked out.
