Taehyung sat cradling a crystal glass in his hands, swirling the remnants of his drink around.

He didn't like drinking per se but he did enjoy the occasional glass of wine with his brothers.

Today was very different though, for he was nursing a pain in his heart that he hadn't ever felt before.

To say he was confused, would be an understatement.

One moment she was melting in his arms, cuddling him and blowing his mind and the next she was cold enough to freeze an active volcano.

But it was not just the freezing cold attitude of hers that pained him, it was also the underlying suspicion and fear of betrayal.

He had hoped she would have come clean by now. That he would forgive her and they would work towards a better future, together.

But that was probably never gonna be.

He looked up from his glass and watched her gracefully work through the crowd with precision and expertise. She laughed at the right jokes, frowned in concentration and smiled at all the right people.

She was networking.

Something that he should have been doing instead of sitting at the bar and drowning his sorrows in whisky.

Looking down, he swirled the drink again making the half-melted ice cubes clink against his glass.

His eyes were drawn to her again.

She had stolen his breath away since the moment she had stepped into the banquet. She looked absolutely ravishing in her long black dress. It accentuated every curve of her body, leaving her shoulders bare and exposing her delicate collarbones.

Her high heeled stilettos making her legs seem endless. The slit on one side of her dress went so high up on her thigh, it was making his fingers twitch in anticipation. He wanted to touch her.

Desperately.

She chose that very moment to stare at him from across the room.

The air sizzled.

The electricity between them was almost palpable. Tae felt like everyone else in the room had disappeared.

Her sultry eyes bore into him as her sinful lips curved into a sensual smile.

He felt himself grow hard under her dark gaze.

If you had ever asked Tae before this very moment, what he pictured in an ideal partner, he would never have described Jia.

He had always pictured a soft, warm person who felt like home.

Something like what Jungkook had with Sua.
Even if that idiot didn't realise it yet.
Someone who he could fall back on with ease.
