.......

In the kitchen, the aroma of dinner wafted through the air, but something was different. Jiya was uncharacteristically silent. Her usual habit of humming or chirping her favorite tunes while cooking was absent. The cheerful ambiance that typically accompanied her cooking was replaced by a quiet solemnity. Something was clearly weighing on her mind.

Abhishek, usually the first one Jiya would call for assistance, found himself waiting in vain. Today, no calls came, no requests for help. It was as if nothing was going to break through the unusual silence that surrounded Jiya.

Abhishek found it difficult to see Jiya in such a state. Bebika too was engulfed in a sense of helplessness. The sight of Jiya's struggle was a tough pill to swallow for both of them.

"Mat ke intezaar Abhishek, nahi bulane wali wo. Tuze tere dost ne jo kuch bola hai, na sedha dil pe laga hai," Bebika said, looking at her.

"I'm sorry, Abhishek, but aapki wajah se na, uski wo innocent smile kho gayi hai. I hope aap use wapas la de," Pooja said gently, tapping his shoulder.

"Ye sab natak hai uska, taki Abhishek ko guilty feel ho," Manisha whispered, audible to everyone.

Bebika looked at her, anger rising in her nerves.

"Abh bhi kuch nahi bolega na tu, Abhishek? Oh haan, tu kyun kuch bolega? Yeh to teri best friend hai na," Bebika got up and went to Jiya to help her.

"Bebika is right. Think about it," Pooja left.

"Abhishek, inki baaton mein mat aao. Woh actor hai," Ashika said.

"Na Bhai, tuze jo karna hai kar. Main to jaa raha hu uski help karne, theek hai na?" Manisha looked at him, a little shocked. Suddenly, what happened to him?

Elvish got up to help Jiya in the kitchen, saw her chopping vegetables, and asked to help her, but she politely denied with a weak smile. Elvish helplessly went back to the living room.

"Kya hua, help karne gaya tha na tu?" Abhi asked.

"Na keh rahi hai wo," he looked at him.

"Dekha kaisa dikhawa kar rahi hai," Manisha blurted out.

"Manisha ji, ab aap zyada kar rahi hai," Elvish got up and left.

"Manisha yaar, muh band rakha kar na thoda," Abhishek walked off.

"Ye Jiya ka bukhar kyun chadha hai sab pe?" Ashika looked at Manisha, confused.

"Kuchh na, bas natak kar rahi hai. Attention chahiye na," Manisha said.

......

Jiya has just finished cooking dinner and serves everyone their food.

"Jiya, tu bhi baith na," Bebika said warmly, noticing Jiya's somber demeanor. Abhishek, lost in guilt, avoided eye contact.

"Are, wo mera mann nahi hai," Jiya responded with a forced smile, leaving abruptly. Abhishek glanced up, regret etched on his face.

"Jiya, ruk," Bebika implored, sensing the tension.

"Kal bhi dinner nahi kiya usne aur aaj lunch bhi nahi," Pooja sighed, her heart going out to Jiya.

"Ho gaya shuru," Manisha whispered sarcastically, earning an irritated look from Elvish. His patience was wearing thin, but he chose silence for now, harboring a storm of emotions.

Abhishek, weighed down by guilt, watched Jiya's retreating figure, realizing the toll his actions had taken on her. The collective concern in the room hung heavily, painting an atmosphere of remorse and unspoken pain.

In the quiet stillness of the night, Abhishek awaited Jiya's presence, a heavy apology lingering on his mind. Minutes stretched into hours, yet Jiya remained elusive. The lights in other rooms gradually dimmed as everyone succumbed to sleep. However, Jiya's side of the bed stayed vacant, the night amplifying Abhishek's growing concern.

Unable to shake off his worry, Abhishek rose from his bed, determined to find Jiya. Elvish, awakened by the commotion, inquired sleepily about the situation.

"Kya ho gaya?" Elvish asked.

"Are, wo Jiya pata nahi kaha hai," Abhishek replied anxiously.

"Wo sone nahi aayi?" Elvish's eyes widened in shock. They both searched for her, and their quest led them to the kitchen.

As they switched on the lights, the darkness unveiled a heartbreaking sight. Jiya was curled up on a chair, asleep, tightly clutching a pillow. Dried tear marks adorned her face, and her eyes looked weary and hollow, vividly reflecting her emotional turmoil.

Abhishek and Elvish exchanged a glance, their hearts heavy with the weight of witnessing Jiya's silent struggle. They stood there, both men, and a pair of eyes — a silent trio bearing witness to her pain, yearning to see her free from such torment.
