~Evelyn Thatcher~
Why does Phoenix look like he's seen a ghost? I guess he has–me. He looks like he's going to evaporate on the spot. Why does Ace look like he wants to rip my head off? He looks like he wants to take Jason's position in my murder. And why does Bowie look like he wants to fuck my brains out of my head? He looks like he's about to charge at me by the way he's looking at my naked body. There's one emotion in common on everyone's face–confusion.
Oh, my God, I've never felt more embarrassed in my entire life. I can't believe they can see me! I haven't been able to be seen by the living or dead alike in I don't know how long. But, just like in the office, in the next instant, they all look like they can't see me anymore.
"What was that?" asks Phoenix, still shaken up and looking at me, even though I know he can't see me.
"Who was that?" asks Bowie in return, looking at the guys with his lust-filled gaze returning to normal, and then it turns to fatigue from their long session.
"No! I'm still here! You just can't see me anymore!" I jump off the couch onto the cold floor and scream into the thin air, hopeful that they can hear me, but I know it's fruitless. And I was right, my shouts of being seen fall on deaf ears. Instead, I marvel at how I can feel the coldness of the floor on the bottom of my shoeless feet.
"I don't care what or who that was. All I know is they know we're here. And they're naked. Obviously, they're some kind of pervert," shouts Ace, clearly irritated and also a little scared. I guess he's scared that I could get them in trouble. I wouldn't tattle-tale even if I could. I don't know why but I feel this strange connection to them. Like I need to be with them for some strange reason.
I don't have time to concentrate on my own feelings when Ace stands up and walks over to me, and waves his right hand through the air, exactly where I am. I see a shudder run through him and he gasps just loud enough for me to hear, "There's something, or rather someone, here, but we can't see them. In my professional opinion, they're either really good at hide and seek or they're using a form of invisibility," he states the obvious, but then completely throws everyone off with his next sentence, as Bowie and Phoenix start getting dressed.
Following suit, Ace and I start getting dressed too, "I knew I wasn't going crazy when I saw her in the manager's office!" ecstatically exclaims Phoenix while he's lacing up his black platform boots. I take a moment to admire their own respective styles. Phoenix dresses in more gothic, dark colors. Ace dresses more elvish-ethereal-like. And Bowie dresses more down-to-earth but ruggish at the same time. Who cares what they look like!? Ace is still glowering at me even though I'm invisible. I can feel the heat from his stare, and it sends a shiver of pleasure down my spine.
"We should get out of here before she comes back and tells someone about this," Phoenix propositions, panic still lacing his vocal cords. Both Bowie and Ace voice their agreement to his worried words.
Why can they see me sometimes but other times they can't? And I swear I could feel their eyes on me during their little orgy, so why are they mad now? "Please, I'm still here," I plead once more, hoping they can hear me, but it's futile.
Ace says, instead, "I think it's time we return to the coven." Coven? What coven? What do they mean by "coven"? Are they wizards?
No, they can't leave! I need them to know I'm here and that I'm sorry for intruding on their personal escapade. I shouldn't have watched them, much less damn near participate in it! I feel dirty and perverted now. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean for any of this to happen, not this, and definitely not my murder," I whisper into the air, defeated and depressed. All these emotions of regret, sadness, and acceptance wash over me and I'm left gasping for breath at how they make me feel.
