The next morning when Rudy woke up something felt... different, But he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Shrugging it off he sleepily climbed out of bed, and made his way into the bathroom.

Rudy looked into the mirror, running a hand through his floppy brown hair that stood up in every direction. He sighed and stared at himself for a moment before pulling off his shirt.

He ran his hand over the large bandage on his side, than carefully removed the medical tape from the corners, but when he removed it... underneath it was something he did not expect.

"What the hell?...", Rudy quietly spoke as he looked a his side that no longer contained a bite mark on it. His slim waist looked completely healed or like he had never been bitten in the first place.

Rudy moved his waist around in different angles, maybe the lighting would change the fact that there was no longer a bite mark! He could feel anxiety creeping up his back, his heart rate starting to pick up.

He took deep breaths as he leaned back against the counter, "..okay, that's not normal Uh... what about-", Rudy then peeled off the bandage on his head, to reveal nothing underneath.

"Maybe I was dreaming...", He said as he nodded his head and smiled. "Yeah, just a dream, just a dream...", His muttering only reassured him partly, because how the hell could he possibly dreamed feelings the pain of being bitten by... whatever that thing was.

Rudy's mind drifted as he smelt something from downstairs. His dads colone, Eggs, Bacon, something burnt?

Breakfast.

Furrowing his eyebrows in confusion Rudy made his way downstairs. It wasn't uncommon for Sunday morning breakfast but it was uncommon for him to be able to recognize different things in a room with just one sniff. That's not something humans can typically do.

"Morn'in", Charlie said from his spot infront of the stove. He chuckled as he caught sight of Rudy's usual bed-head. "Nice hair."

Rudy gave his dad a sarcastic smile as he walked next to him, "thanks, did it myself.", a random tune played from the radio softly so they weren't in complete silence.

Leaning on the counter, Rudy reached for a piece of bacon back quickly retracted his hand when Charlie slapped it with a spachula, "Boy, get your dirty hands away from my bacon!", Charlie's voice was playful but he wasn't joking.

Even though Rudy winced... he didn't actually feel anything. Infact, his hand hadn't even turned red from impact.

As Charlie turned back to the food on the stove his elbow bumped into the salt shaker, knocking it off the counter. Suddenly, everything through Rudy's eyes was in slow motion, as he reached around his dad and caught the shaker with remarkable reflexes.

Once it landed in Rudy's hand, time seemed to go back to normal while Rudy stared at the shaker with wide and confused eyes.

"Nice reflexes, Rudy! I didn't even have time to react.", Charlie said as he turned towards Rudy.

Rudy stared at it for a second before handing it to his dad, "Yeah... yeah, it was...", He said In a slightly confused tone. At first Rudy thought it was just a dream but now... something was definitely wrong.

Turning back towards the food, Charlie said, "Must be all that hockey."

"Yep... must be...", Rudy replied as he went to set the table. A look of confusion still lingering on his face.
