Chapter 3: Post-attempt

I sit in the back of the car in silence, staring at the scenery beyond the window. Then out of no where, I hear Sully speak "Hey,". I look around and I don't see him anywhere. I whisper "Where are you?" as I look to my right. "I'm in you, I'm talking to you through your mind right now." his words make my eyes widen. As I'm deep in thought, he speaks again "So I tried to help you get out of that hospital by possessing you, but we got tased four times. I'm sorry.".

"What the hell!" I whisper yell at him. He made me kill someone! He's the reason I woke up with blood on my hands! He's the reason I'm probably being taken to jail right now! Sully tries to explain himself "I mean, she was trying to stop us from escaping." I would've been released from the hospital in like a few weeks, he didn't have to kill anyone! "That was not necessary, now I'm being taken to jail or wherever because you decided to kill someone by using me!" I quietly yell at him.
The cop in the car passenger seat turns to me and interrupts my argument with Sully "Are... you okay?". I reassure the officer "I'm okay officer.". He nods and turns away while looking worried. Me and Sully don't speak for the rest of the car ride.

(About 30 minutes later)

We arrive at a large building that looks like a prison. I'm taken out of the car and into the building. The two officers walk me to an interviewing room and sit me down. A well dressed woman with a folder comes into the room and sits in the seat across from mine. She introduces herself "Hi, I'm Officer Jiāng. I'd like to ask you some questions about what happened at the hospital.". I just nodded in response, I didn't really want to answer anymore questions but I'm not sure if I have a choice or not. Officer Jiāng got out some documents and showed them to me.

The first document was a photo of me on the ceiling above the nurses body. "Can you tell me why you killed Nurse Perez?" the seemingly kind officer waited for my answer. If I tell her about Sully then she's probably gonna think I'm crazy. But what else am I gonna tell her? A demon possessing me is probably gonna explain how I got on the ceiling though. I kept my eyes on my hands as I told Jiāng about a demon possessing me. "I know I'm gonna sound insane when I tell you this but... I got possessed by a demon that made me kill Nurse Perez..." I let out a sigh after my explanation. I'm probably gonna be sent to a mental hospital now. I at least have the footage of me crawling on the ceiling to back me up.

Officer Jiāng nods "Could that explain how you were able to crawl onto the ceiling?". I shrug "Maybe," that evidence made me at least sound less crazy. She got out a tablet then played a video. It showed me getting tased and ripping out the electrodes. I then got tased by three more guards and I finally went down. Im shocked and a little impressed. It was as if I was resistant to it, but it was most likely Sully and not me. Officer Jiāng asks "Do you think the demon that possessed you help you resist getting tased?". I nod "mhm," and she nods slowly.

She looks at some notes "According to Officer Winston, you said that you didn't remember killing that nurse, correct?". I slowly nod "All I remember is falling asleep and waking up restrained to my bed, aching, and having blood on my hands.". Officer Jiāng looks at me with worry "That must have been terrifying." she sounded remorseful. "Yeah, I just feel asleep and woke up with blood on my hands because a demon possessed me and made me kill someone." I rambled a bit, feeling frustrated.

Officer Jiāng puts all the files back in the folder. "Alright, that's all as of now," she puts the files in a bag then gives me a light smile. "I hope things get better for you. Have a good day!" with that, she leaves the table. I wave her goodbye as she leaves the room and wait in silence and talk to Sully for a few minutes. Two officers then take me out of the prison and put me back in the car. I sit in silence and do my best to ignore Sully as I'm driven to another place.
