After a bit of flying, and a twenty minute nap, Shiro decided to dive under the clouds so he could see how much was left in the journey. He leaned forward and Cherry soared downward, piercing the clouds and revealing the dismal gloom below.
They both watched as hundreds of thousands of hummingbirds flew by, and were almost invisible thanks to the low level of light, but it was like the feeling that one is being watched; it's obvious that there's something there, but it just remains to be seen. The strange, solemn uniformity was a rule, and like any, it had its exceptions. About twelve pendragons soared along at breakneck speeds, and performed amazing air acrobatics, which was highly illegal in the city. It took Shiro a moment to realize that he was not in the city, so the city's rules didn't apply.
Now... Both cherry and Shiro felt truly unleashed. Cherry flew at a speed far greater than ever before as she squawked in enthrallment; performing aerial feats that he had only seen before at circuses that traveled the sky bringing fun with them. She flew corkscrews through the sky and flew in large donuts to pick up tremendous speed. red feathers gently floated along behind them.
Shiro noticed one particular rider from afar. From what he could tell. it was a female with long, straight silver hair. One thing was certain. Her pendragon was definitely happy. He heard it's caws from across the sea of bland uniformity like an acoustic beacon. He flew closer. she was wearing an old, torn, jet black riding coat, with old, yet usable straps. The coat covered a white flannel shirt fastened together with a black tie. She wore black pants with tears in the knees, and frays at her ankles. One of her hands was clenched around the harness ropes, while the other was wrapped around the handle of a thin sword in a black sheath. Her deep ruby crimson eyes held no emotion whatsoever. He tried to speak to her.
"HEY!" he yelled, to be heard over the screaming sounds of the wind passing by. She seemed to hear well enough, and replied:
"HEY!"
The two looked at eachother before she said:
"YOU GO HERE?"
"YEAH!"
"COOL!"
From then, there was an awkward silence around the two as they flew in eachother's vicinity for two more hours. At the end of that time: a silver tower floating in the sky.
