CHAPTER 1

Adeline's POV

"Fianlly,"I said after shutting my laptop down after being done for the day

It's almost midnight, and I'm still here in the office finishing the work. I, Adeline Martinez, ceo of Martinez group, just want to have a few minutes for herself, but I can't

Because being the ceo that is at the age of 24 plus being a woman is not easy every time you have faced this rough world and challenges it throws towards you

Life was not always this difficult till 4 years ago, when my father and brother used to handle everything and like every other girl, I was also living the life of a princess but everything changed that night

It's still scares me whenever I think about that night, I still get nightmares of that horrible night

I took a deep breath and started collecting my things from the desk. Soon, I left the office building, driving my car

I was on my way to back home when I decided to just look for any place for food  which is open, though my maid should had cooked dinner for me but I don't want to have a home meal tonight

Soon I found a place and quickly after parking my car aside, I went inside And bought dinner for myself and since I don't want to stay there anymore since it's already late I asked her to give me take outs, after collecting my food from the counter and paying, I left the restraunt

I was on my way home when suddenly my car stopped moving......

I came out of the car and tried to look for a problem but I don't know anything about the car engine.... I sighed in defeat and took out my phone from my purse, and my phones battery was dead

Cold wind blows, and I started rubbing my hands on my arms to get some warmth. It's midnight, and the road was also silent. No cars were there, and I was getting scared now

I was thinking what to do now, when I saw two shadows, I didn't looked at that direction but when I saw footsteps I knew someone is coming, I tried to look for a power bank in my bag so that I can call for help, when I noticed two big burglar type of men has seen me and they are approaching me, I tried to be strong but panicked filled inside me when I felt someone standing behind me

"Look what we have here? Where are you going, pretty lady? " a big blonde hair burglar with a think beard and evil glint in his eyes said when I turned around

"I think she needs help," I other one with brunette hairs looking me with a smirk on his face

I got to shocked and my hands started shaking, I opened the car door and was to lock my self in when the blonde burglar grabbed my wrist and yanked me to right side so he can stand between me and the car door

"Let me go," I yelled and tried to get my out of his grip, but he tightened his grip, and I winced as it started paining

The other one started looking at my purse and may be looking for cash, and when he didn't find anything, he dropped my bag

"Nothing, I guess she is the only thing we are getting tonight," he said to the blonde one
