This is a short story I wrote for my drama class, for a writing exercise. It's not exactly that good, but I had SO much fun writing this. I'm a child at heart, so this was just very satisfying. I am aware that there is probably some spelling/grammar mistakes, so you could deal with it or, if it really bothers you, correct me in the comments. If you like it, make sure to give me a vote. Other than that, I hope you enjoy my short story; Innocent.

Alice, age four, rose out of bed just like every other morning. Hair a mess, slobber all over, and a night gown with Cinderella on it...backwards. She crawled across her bed to grab her beloved rainbow sheet. She uncucessfully attempted to tie it around her neck, to give it the appearance of a cape. After many failed attempts she dropped her shoulders in a pout, and walked to the kitchen.

"Mommy, will you tie my cape on?" She asked her mother in a sweet little voice. The mother looked down at Alice. "Sure honey, just don't fly too far, okay? Breakfast will be ready soon." she replied with a motherly smile. She leaned down and wrapped the brilliantly colored sheet around her daughter, and loosely tied it around her neck.

As soon as the make-shift cape was on, Alice felt a rush of power course through her veins. This confirmed her belief that she was 'Super Alice' at least until she found a better super hero name. She remembered that she had a day to save, so she sprinted out into the living room, cape dragging on the floor behind her, and hopped onto the couch. "Oh, no! The city is too far away! I'll just have to fly there!" Alice exclaimed to herself. She leaped up into the air, and just as she expected, stayed there. She levitated a few feet above the furniture, using the triangle formation of the couch, automin, and two chairs as a flight path.

Then, just as suddenly as she had started, she stopped flying. She fell to her peril, landing on the couch in a painful-but not-too-painful bellyflop. She questioned herself on what had happened. Before she could make a final decision the ground opened up, and a gigantic flow of lava grew into the room and consumed everything, besides the tops of the furniture. Alice hastily glanced around, wide eyed. She saw a comb sitting on the chair to the right of her. She swiftly hopped over to the chair, and threw the comb into the fiery abyss, to verify her concerns. When it disappeared with a small explosion of fire and gas, she knew she had to do something to get rid of the lava. She could not let it spread and hurt somebody!

Alice scanned the room, looking for what had triggered the lava, or how to turn it off. She saw a small hidden button on the fireplace, just within reach from the chair, with her super sight. But, it was across the room, of course. Even though getting to the button seemed like a hard task, the lava was a potential danger, meaning it was Alice's duty to get rid of it. Without hesitation, Alice sprang into action, and not-so-gracefully stumbled over and across the couch. She jumped to the automin to get a better angle for the chair, but it was still a long shot. She ran with all her little might and soared into the air, but it wasn't enough.

Little Alice was only able to land the top half of her body onto the chair, leaving her dangling above the lava. She tried to pull herself up, but she didn't have the upperbody strength to do such a feat. all hope seemed lost for the tiny hero, as she hung there, feet almost touching the lava.

All of the sudden, behind the doorway to the kitchen stood a horrible and fearsome monster. It stomped through the lava in it's pink fuzzy slippers. Alice stared at the monster, watching it tread through the lava with a malicious grin and perfectly manicured nails ready to tickle the flesh off of her little bones. Only then did she realize she stood, or dangled, face to face with...The Tickle Monster! *gasp*

It's apron flowed in the wind as it picked Alice up by the armpits and tossing her on the couch. Alice, now safe from the lava, but in worse danger, tried to evade the monster by rolling and crawling away. She was no match for the monster, though. It caught her in it's tickly death grip and flipped her onto her back. It proceded to lightly scratch at her stomach with only the tips of it's fingers.

After about twenty seconds of this, the mother laughs and smiles at her much beloved daughter. "Breakfast is ready, dear." Alice glanced at the kitchen table and saw the steaming plate of food. "Ooo, pancakes!!" she exclaimed, running into the kitchen.
