Kenny and Beade

Their relationship is very strained and complicated. Beade is not a good mother, but the two still care a lot for each other.

She is a single mother. She dated a swamp person (who I decided may be a BG char from the episode Workout) and had Kenny with him. He was not a good father and for this reason, he is no longer in the family picture, this happened when Kenny was around age 6.

Beade has to work hard as a single mother to support her child Kenny. She is often exhausted and is very prone to anger due to how tired she is working such long hours on top of being a single parent. She works at the hotel in *Hotel Hysteria*.

Unfortunately she does take this anger out on Kenny a lot of the time. She also can be neglectful, and Ken quickly had to learn how to support himself as a child sadly. He had to often make his own meals and get himself up for school, even in elementary school. Beade would leave him home alone a lot due to her long work-hours and not trusting anyone in her life to babysit him. (Her family is far away and Kent's father is just an absolutely horrible person.)

Kenny is trans, his birthname is Karla. He was always a tomboy growing up. In the episode "Spy Pies" we can see that Beade is very preoccupied with her reputation and image. She wanted a very feminine, pretty daughter. She was often angry with Kenny when he was a child for hating the feminine clothing and tight, uncomfortable hairstyles she'd want him to wear, such as buns or braids. She kind of treated Ken like he was an extension of her. She was often angry that he wouldn't comply with her. One day as an act of rebellion (around age 12) he got a pair of scissors and cut his hair very short so he wouldn't have to wear the uncomfortable painful hair styles his mom would make him wear.

It led to a huge fight. But finally, around the time he got to high-school she accepted she couldn't change Kenny, this is just who he is. She eventually became gentler towards him. Despite all this rockiness, Ken loves his mother very much. She is very mentally ill from her own trauma. At a young age, unfortunately Kenny had to be responsible for his own mother's well-being. He can't help but feel worried for his mother a lot of the time. But he often also resents his mother for her abuse. It is very complicated. His mother loves him very much too, but she is awful at showing it. She is simply put, very immature for an adult and she is mentally ill. Being a mother, especially all on her own with no support, was just too much for her. It doesnt excuse how she treated Kenny as a child at all, but simply just explains it.

When he moves out at age 20 with his roommate Trix (one of the girl gang gals) he puts some distance up between himself and his mother and starts focusing on his own life. He finally admits to himself he has a lot of trauma with his mom. He still loves her, but wants to build a new life for himself. His mother does not know he is trans, because he doesn't really expect her to understand it. She still thinks he's a very masc lesbian. She is a bit backwards in her ways, partially due to being Catholic. He is okay with this since life can be complicated. His mother is the only family member he really has any connection with.
