"hyunjin lost so he's buying today!"

hyunjin frowned, fixing his hand into this pockets, and hiding hand of his face in his scarf around his neck.

"why me? you guys are just going to buy out the entire store."

"what? you can afford it," his friends giggled at the remark, the boy in question sighing, slightly annoyed with his idiotic "friends".

"whatever. each of you get max three items," he stated, taking one hand out to point at the winner of the rock paper scissors game. "and you especially, just get something cheap, my parents may check my account and wonder why i spend thousands of won on some convince store at eleven at night."

the guy nodded, silently agreeing to hyunjin's money request. the boys in a group of seven, walked towards the closest lit convenience store, called something hyunjin had no energy to read after his extra english classes.

they opened the door quickly, the bell ringing loudly to alert everyone that a hoard of kids were about to ransack the store completely, and make the blonde one pay for it all.

hyunjin groaned into his scarf, muffling it completely as he walked towards the counter, his eyes locked on the floor. he decided not to grab anything knowing his friends will be spending all the monthly allowance in one go.

he leaned on the checkout counter, making eye contact with the worker in place. he was previously looking at his phone, which was lit up in a rose-ish tint. his eyes were a soft brown, completely and utterly complimenting his brown hair which was parted in the middle and bleached in the front. hyunjin wuickly looked down to a pin on his collared shirt which said "kim". he locked eyes with him again, and so he smiled, giving a small hey.

"hello," the worker said plainly, looking back to his phone. "why're you standing, your friends are really loading up on goods. you just got done with extra classes right? go eat dinner." he suggested, hyunjin letting go a pitiful laugh.

"nah, i have to pay for all their snacks, so i shouldn't buy anything in hopes that my allowance isn't in the negatives this month. my parents won't send me more." he said, closing his eyes with a cold breeze making its way as the door slammed closed due to the starting winter wind.

the worker stared at hyunjin, the boy felt it in the back of his neck. he was probably a lot older than him, but what can he do? his thoughts after admiring his looks was only one thing— he wouldn't mind hooking up with a college student.

"hey," the worker said. "you're paying? you're a third year aren't you?" he asked.

"sure am, you? college, i assume."

the worker nodded, agreeing with the statement. "yeah, first year. part time job i guess. though really, i think you're about to spent how much i earn in a week right now on your friends."

all the six other boys came running up with things piled in their hands, throwing them on the counter, making the cashier start scanning things.

hyunjin only sighed as more things started piling.

"shouldn't you have mercy on your friend?" the casier asked.

"nah," one of the guys said, throwing a few different bags of chips on the table. "he's hella rich, who cares! his parents will just pay him more, right jinnie?" they teased, the blonde rolling his eyes and grabbing his wallet.

the cashier frowned at this response, and continued scanning. as the six guys started walking away, telling hyunjin to carry the bags out after he paid, the cashier looked at hyunjin.

"hey, shouldn't you be doing something? even if you can afford it, it's pretty shitty of them to just use your money like that."

hyunjin smiled, pulling out large bills from his wallet. "who cares, if they hangout with me because i'm rich, why should it matter? it means i'm not alone. i know they're terribly fake, but what can i do? i'm just trying to survive this year. then i can fuck around in college all i want." he said, handing the older one the bills.

the other sighed, taking them, and messing with the register. "whatever, not my business. i was done with that shit long ago."

hyunjin smiled as he received some change back, and he watched all the food be put into bags. "oh hey, by the way," hyunjin started.

"do you mind if i borrow your phone for a sec? mines dead."

the older stated for a moment, before handing over the slightly old phone, it already being opened for the teen.

"thanks a ton." he said, trying some things on the phone before turning it off quickly after. "here." he gave it back, exchanging it for the bags of food. "thanks cutie," he said, winking and walking away with the loads of bags filled with cheap snacks for dinner.

the cashier, seungmin, sighed. he was twenty years old and had never seen anything like that in his while working as a cashier. jinnie, as he heard, which was most likely a nickname, was clearly having a tougher time in his third year. "sucks to be him." seungmin decided, opening his phone to be met with a texting app.

he looked at the message sent, which read a simple hey. then the contact, which read "hyunjin hwang (message for a good time)"

seungmin stared blankly, then back at the door of the store, seeing the boy in question walk behind everyone else in the pack,  his hands stuffed in his pockets his breath making clouds on light air, clearly seen even from the distance which seungmin was.

"fuck...he's eighteen." he remembered, cursing the motion of ages and time.

*bing!*
