" I don't remember when the end came for all of us. All I remember is when it didn't come for those two."

My name is Hyacinth, recorder here at the Gorge Kingdom, my purpose is to keep records of every event that happens here in our walls. Many have come before me, but none of them can be as great as my great-grandmother was. You travel a great lot just to get here. What a journey, our King would be surprised to see such strength in one's body. Enough talk about me, I know you are here to hear a story. The story I have for you, is well....unfinished. Why perhaps? Well, the recorder before me perished in a great tragedy, a tragedy that destroyed our kingdom. I'm in what is left of the kingdom, a spare room some soldiers spent days on. As of now, we do not have much, but perhaps us few can survive? How did this happen? You ask a good question my love.

There at the bottom of a gorge lived a kingdom inhabited by a race called Lilliputians. Small, fragile, yet boastful little beings spent their days expanding their kingdom far into the land. Despite their size, every animal nearby knew how dangerous these little humans were. Most would say they are worse than the bigger humans. Owls reported dead mice lying on the ground with ropes around them. Deers were horrified when they found their leader, Warlock, struck dead with arrows around his neck. Even the weasels had to relocate from their burrows just to avoid being hunted for their skin. Every Lilliputian was under the rule of an infamous king, Lord Burdock. Lord Burdock was a hardy man. Back in his youth, he was known to pester little girls, steal food from peasants, Set carriages on fire, and disrespect the elders. This was seen as a gift by the previous King, Oleander.

Oleander loved the energy Burdock had, surprisingly he invited the boy to a great dinner held in the WormHall. A dinner that was promised for the struggling and poor, was now reserved for a devilish boy. As they ate, Oleander questioned the boy to understand his intentions and backstory.

Burdock mentioned his whole family was slaughtered by a group of rats. He racked on about how he slain the leader with one devastating blow from his father's sword. This whoever, turned out to be a lie, as Burdock disobeyed his father's order of never going into the junkyard. He threw rocks at the rats and mocked them for their silly nose, and their two front buck teeth. It was until then one of the rats gave chase to the rascal. He fled back to his home and screamed to his father about the rat. The powerful rodent however wasn't the leader of the rats, he was infected by a terrible disease called rabies. The rabid monster killed his father alongside his mother and grandmother. Burdock ran away screaming and crying into the arms of a peasant housewife. It was unclear why he would use such a traumatic moment into a moment of boasting, but it was certain he truly was the devil's offspring. Years passed and Oleander soon fell ill and died. Burdock took his place but showed no tears for his fallen king. Oleander treated him like a son, but Burdock did not care. He just couldn't wait to be king. Once he gained his title, Lord Burdock wrecked terror onto the land. First he commanded all able-bodied putians to climb onto a great vine and strike down the "rats" who killed his family. Then he ordered peasants to give up their children to a wealthy family. It is a disturbing scene, as the peasants soon became the "breeders" of the kingdom. Next, workers will spend day and night building new homes to occupy the new families coming up. His soldiers, however, were treated with the most respect. He allowed them to do whatever they pleased, as long as it wasn't against him or his advisors. There was never a day when soldiers would be seen taking numerous wives, spitting and eating up food from the farms, harassing fellow animals, and slaining the most starved person for target practice. Somehow, the kingdom still flourished even though the number of deaths were high.

Years and Years of turmoil have passed. An answer has come to those who were suffering. A former slave named Starfall received a message from the heaven's above. The voice said unto him

"Your time of torment has come to an end.

A child who is strong to make reality bend.

Cows will fall and crops will die,

This will continue till the end is nigh.

Your kingdom will shatter like a glass

Your time of destruction has ended at last

This angered Lord Burdock. He sent out his soldiers to gather all the youth that was under the working age. East laid a strange hole that seemed to never end. Each child was examined before the soldiers struck them and pushed them into the hole. This continued for two days before all the youth were eliminated. Starfall heard from the voice again, this time it was more blunt with its words.

Foolish you, just like your king.

Burdock brushed it off and ordered Starfall to no longer speak to him of any more "fairy tales" ever again. Instantly, the whole kingdom began to shake. A powerful energy broke the walls and eroded the ground. Lord Burdock took a look outside of his window to see blue particles coming out from the ground. The rumbling had become too powerful, Burdock for the first time in a long time became scared. Scared like the little boy he was a long time ago. Suddenly, a giant chunk of the Gorge's wall fell onto the kingdom. Everything then, had become nothing but a blur as most of the puritans died. Only a handful of peasants survived. Shattered, devastated, and broken, the peasants wandered off. No location or place to go, they wandered into the unknown.

That was the downfall of the Gorge Kingdom.

That's my favorite story to tell my love. I was a peasant myself until the destruction came. My mother found a nearby village to stay in as I ate a hearty meal for the first time of my life. She passed away, buried under the many diseases she has caught. The others? I never knew what happened to them.

As our kingdom grows, my colony has adopted a new set of morals and rules. Never again will we become the monster Lord Burdock became. I see you are asking what destroyed the kingdom, well I only had one clue or vision for better words. An older sister and her baby brother appeared in my dreams one night. Her brother's eyes were glowing as she held him in her arms. I fear this will never be answered, nor do I want to search why. But maybe you can find the solution. Would you do it?
