Chapter 8

Moon's Pov

7:25

'I should probably wake her up. It's about time for her to get ready for work... but she looks so peaceful.... but she has to go to work. And so does Sun.'

I gently tapped Y/n's shoulder to wake her up. She moved slightly but then went back to sleep, so I continued to shake her lightly.

"Cmon starshine, you have to get up."

She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me.

"What time is it?"

"7:29"

She sat up and rubbed her eyes. She stood up and thought for a second.

"How do I get down?"

"I have to carry you."

'There are stairs for employees, but I just want to get to carry you again."

"Okay... can you take me down?"

I nodded my head before picking her up. She quickly wrapped her arms around my neck and put her head on my shoulder.

'I wish I didn't need a reason to hold you like this.'

I walked to the balcony and jumped off. We landed, and I put her down.

"Thanks!"

She smiled and thanked me. She walked over to her desk and sat down. I walked over and flipped the lights on so Sun could get ready for the day.

Y/n's Pov

I opened my laptop as Moon flipped on the lights. I checked my email to see an email from my boss.

      Dear Mrs. L/n
I would like you to know that there is an open job in parts and service. If you would like to apply for this job spot please contact me. This job would include  cleaning the animatronics and fixing small problems. The rest of the services will be done by other employees. This job will also give a higher pay. Please report back with an email regarding your answer. Thank you.

I looked over the email a couple of times. I was trying to decide if I should take the offer or not. As I was about to reply, I noticed Sunny standing behind me, staring at the screen. He looked uneasy.

"Are you okay, Sunny?"

He looked at me with the same uneasy look. I was just getting more worried.

'Is he upset about something?'

"Sunny?"

"Are you leaving us?"

'What? Does he think I'm leaving? Did he read the email?'

I was heartbroken at the thought of leaving them. That's why I decided to stay.

"No, Sunny, I'm not leaving. Don't worry, I'm going to keep working at the daycare."

He looked relieved and hugged me.

'Wow, they must like hugs. Maybe their love language is physical, touche... if they even have a love language.'

I hugged him back while reassuring him that I wasn't going to leave. After he let go, I got back to working. But Sunny never seemed to go very far. He didn't go to clean the whole daycare like he usually does. Instead, he just stayed by my desk cleaning the same spot over and over, glancing at me every once in a while. I didn't think anything of it and kept working. I replied to the email and declined. I then finished most of the paperwork until the kids came.

As the last kid left, I went and sat down at my desk to finish my work. I only had one more paper to fill out. As I was writing, I got a phone call. I checked the ID to see that it was my ex. :( I hesitantly answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Y/n! How have you been?"

"I've been good. How about you?"

He might have been toxic to me(and still is), but I'm not confident enough to be rude to him, so I just kinda deal with it.

"I've been ok. Except for the fact that I'm  single..."

"Listen, are you drunk? I'm not going to date you again. This is the third time you've asked me. Don't you have a couple more side chicks you could date instead, anyway?"

"Yeah, but you know you're the best in bed~"

I cringed at the comment. It made me so uncomfortable.

"If I'm the best, then why did you cheat on me?"

He paused for a moment, almost shocked at the question.

"Aww, c'mon, I already said sorry~ and besides, you know you want me."

"Well, I haven't forgiven you, so you need to stop calling me because I'm never going to agree. Not in a million years."

"Fine then! I never actually like you anyway. You were just a play toy to me. No one would ever like someone like you. BYE BITCH!"

*Call ended*

I don't know why but I just started crying. I already knew that, but hearing it come from his mouth just made it even more real.

"What's wrong, Sunshine?"

I didn't even notice Sun walk up to me. I turned to face him, and he saw how much I was crying. He immediately hugged me(again), I instantly returned the favor.

"Nothing. I'm fine. I don't even know why I'm crying. Don't worry, I'll be okay."

"It sounds like you're trying to reassure yourself more than me, Sunshine. What's really wrong? You know you can always talk to me."

I looked up at him and told him everything except what ex/n said at the end. Sun looked visibly upset. And that was VERY rare for Sun. He was always happy.

"He did all of that? And he talked to you like that?"

"Well that and he said that and that he 'never liked me' and that I was just his 'play toy'. Oh also he called me a bitch."

When I said that Sun looked like he was gonna blow a fuse. He was in deep thought for a minute until he finally spoke up.

"Never let anyone talk to you like that again okay? And if they do you can just tell me okay?"

"Okay."

At that he gave me one last quick hug before going back to cleaning. I just sat there thinking about what happened.

'Wow he really does care about me. Maybe he- no. He's a robot he doesn't feel love.'

I went back to my paper and eventually finished my work.
