"What are you saying? Is it true? Could it be...?"

Mira looked away from the TV, curiously staring at her father who was occupying the phone and nervously shifting his weight from one foot to the other. This confused her more. Her father was never nervous, he was a proud man who never let anyone know what was going on inside of him, what he was thinking and feeling.

She watched her mother step beside him, also curious, only to be shoved back by him and waved off. Something is definitely not right, she thought. Although her father was a tough nut to crack, he was always affectionate towards her mother, often saying how much he loved her or how lucky he was to have her.

"Are you sure? If you are wrong I will-"

His words and behavior worried the two women. They anxiously hugged each other, afraid of bad knews destroying their family peace.

He exchanged a few more words with the person on the other end of the line before hanging up. He immediately turned away from his wife and daughter, grabbing his jacket and putting on his shoes.

"Honey, what is it? Is it about work," his wife cautiously questioned, stepping closer. Suddenly, she noticed how his shoulders were shaking. As he turned around, she found tears quelling in his eyes, rolling down his cheeks and staining his shirt. "What is it?"

He quietly sobbed, grabbing her hand and doing his best to show her a smile that in reality just broke her heart.  "Kayden... they found him."

His face held no expression as he sat in a hospital bed. The doctors wanted to examine him further so he had to get this over with. They found many broken bones and scars over his body. His head had taken quite some damage too, but most injuries were already a few years old.

But no matter how many tests they made, the doctors couldn't explain the loss of memory. To them, it was a miracle, to the boy it made sense, since he was faking it all.

However, when they found his DNS matching that of a missing boy from years ago, he was left surprised. Apparently, he had a family. Father, mother, and a little sister.

It took them a day to arrive and even though they had that time to mentally prepare themselves, they were still shocked to see him after all those years.

His body was well build. His hair was dyed in a bright blue that matched the chemically looking colour of his eyes. The scar that began on his right sleeve and stretched all across his face to his left chin scared them, as well as the one that started behind his right ear and traveled down his throat to his shoulder.

Since it's been so many years, it was hard for them to recognize him as their lost family member, but not for his mother. She saw it, behind the emotionless and dead look in his eyes, she saw the familiarity. He had her eyes, just like her daughter.

He must have endured so much pain. Just what happened to my baby boy?

"Kayden," her mother breathed out with a low voice as she took in her son's appearance.

He looked up. That must be the name I had before I landed in Camp. She must be my mother. Should I say anything?

With tears in her eyes, she waited for him to say something, but nothing came out as he just continued to stare at her. After a few seconds, she gave up and simply jumped forward to hug her lost child. Startled, the boy had to control himself as to not hurt her out of reflex.

Instead, he just sat there and let it happen. He couldn't bring himself to reciprocate the hug, feeling nothing. Over her shoulder, he could see an older man and a younger girl, probably his father and sister. Both of them clutched onto each other, crying and sobbing loudly.
