William Afton, aka the Purple Guy, was a cold hearted killer. A man in his early 30s got into the habit of killing children for unknown reasons. Some say it's because he was bitter that he couldn't have a child himself. Others say it's because he thought adults are too difficult to kill. Everyone goes soft when children are involved, so they are not only easy bait to get to the parents for whatever they want, but also, they're naive. They'll happily follow someone in a rabbit costume because all they see is their favourite character coming to life.
When he killed, he had a style. He wrote "You Can't" on the walls with the child's blood. What did it mean? You can't have a child? You can't be happy? You can't give this kid a life? You can't save them? No one knew. It's only recently he stopped doing that. He came up with a new style. He got a rabbit mascot costume and took the children away, promising them all sorts like candy, puppies, even going so far as to promise them what they've always dreamed of. He got into the habit of hiding the children's bodies. He hid them in places where people won't think to look, and by the time they find them, they already started to decay.
They called him the Purple Guy because he always worked in the shadows. What used to be an 'out there' murder soon turned into a hunt to find the missing child. He got a kick out of watching them search and search, seeing them run past the hidden body countless times. He loved watching and hearing the parents have breakdowns as they tried so desperately to find their child. He wanted to give it the ultimate test. He wanted to kill a child in front of everyone with no one noticing. Sounds impossible, right? He didn't think so.
One night, he drove his car to a newly opened resturant known as Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. The Grand Re-opening. The perfect time for something to go horribly wrong. Freddy Fazbears was loved by many children, so all he had to do was pick his favourite. He forgot his rabbit costume, but that didn't stop him. He was up for the challenge. As he got out the car and walked up to the door, he heard a little girl crying outside a window. He walked up behind her and looked in through the window. The place was packed. Why was she left outside? Was she bullied? Was she kicked out? Was she forgotten? None of that mattered. William grinned at the fact the place was full. He took out his knife and stabbed the girl in the back, making her scream. He wanted her to scream as loud as she could. He wanted somebody to hear her and try to save her. He wanted to get the rush of almost getting caught but getting away just in time. But..the more she screamed..the more she bled out..the more she tried her best to stay alive..nobody came..His smile faded. For the first time in years, he saw a cruel reality that even children can be forgotten about.
As he watched the girl take her final breaths, he ran off. He abandoned his style. He was too shocked to try to hide her or even write on the wall with her blood. He just got into the car and drove home. He didn't want that to happen again. He wanted a rush. He wanted police reports, sirens going off. He wanted to try again.
A year later, he became a worker at a new Freddy Fazbears Pizza that recently got built in the area. He became the Golden Bonnie mascot there to help bring the character to life. As he watched the children enjoy his performances, he had a sudden urge to make them scream. He held himself back until he found the perfect opportunity. A birthday party. He took the birthday boy and four of his friends to a special room. He told the parents to wait outside while they have a secret party. The parents were concerned, of course, but felt that the children were safe because no criminal would think of doing anything in front of cameras. But this room had no cameras. As he took the children into the room, he locked the door behind him and pulled out his iconic knife. One by one, killing the once happy children. Tears streamed down their faces, still wet by the time they die. He got the biggest thrill of his life. 5 kids at once. He never got to do that before, especially with the parents nearby. Now all he had to do was find a place to hide the bodies. He wanted to test himself once again, so he stuffed the bodies into the animatronic suits. He cleaned up the suits as much as he could so no one would figure it out straight away. He then took off his suit and left the room, pretending to be someone completely different.
Those 5 children..Those 5 are the ones he shouldn't have killed. They didn't want to accept defeat. They wanted to go home. They wanted to have a fun birthday party as they watch the animatronics do their thing. But now..they'll never be able to go home. They'll never be able to play games, see their families, grow up, go to school, get a job, go on holiday, nothing..They were angry..They wanted revenge. They refused to move on until they get revenge. But..how would they do that? Lost, confused and alone..their spirits floated around Freddy's, trying to communicate to others but only ended up scaring them. Making the spirits even more angry.
Until one day, the puppet awoke from it's slumber..
