Chapter 6: Quality Time

The night passed peacefully, and as the first rays of dawn broke through the horizon, the soldiers began to stir awake one by one. Izzy was the first to wake, feeling surprisingly well-rested despite the events of the previous day. She slowly untangled herself from the embrace of Caleb and Alex, careful not to disturb their slumber.

As she made her way to the bathroom to freshen up, she couldn't help but smile, thinking about the bond they had formed. The playful banter and affectionate gestures from the previous night lingered in her mind and her body felt fuzzy wherever they have touched her. She felt a warmth in her heart she hadn't experienced in a long time.

After freshening up, Izzy decided to make breakfast for all of them, just to express her joy and gratitude. She found the ingredients in the kitchen and started preparing an omelette and a fruit salad. The smell of freshly cooked food gradually filled the house, waking Caleb and Alex from their sleep.

They entered the kitchen, looking slightly disheveled but nonetheless grateful for the effort Izzy had put into making breakfast. "Good morning, cutie," Caleb greeted with a yawn that quickly changed to a cheecky grin.

"Good morning," Izzy replied with a smile. "Breakfast is almost ready. Sit down and relax."

Alex nodded appreciatively and joined Caleb at the table. "You didn't have to do this, sweetheart, but I'm not complaining," he said, sending her a warm smile.

Izzy blushed at the endearment, but she was getting used to Alex's playful flattery. "It's the least I can do after you all took care of me last night," she said.

"Darling, we only did what a sensible person would do."

Izzy blushed but didn't say anything. After she served Caleb and Alex she asked "Is Ethan still sleeping? It's not like him to oversleep."

"Why don't you both go wake him up?" Alex suggested to Izzy and Caleb. They grinned at each other and went running in to the room.

Caleb started kissing him lightly and affectionately all over his face. "Mm. Babe, stop." Ethan mumbled on his sleep.

"No." Caleb answered and kissed his nose. Meanwhile Izzy has silently taken a pillow and she threw it at both men giggling.

Ethan woke up immediately and pulled her down on the bed by her waist and started to tickle her.

"Stop! Ethan, I am still on my period. I will make a mess."

"I'll clean it up." He said and kissed her softly in the top of her head.

"Let's go eat breakfast. This cutie worked really hard for it." Caleb said. Ethan grabbed Izzy and pulled her over his shoulder to carry her to breakfast. They both couldn't stop giggling.

Alex looked at them and laughed shaking his head "Did I miss something?"

They both hummed negatively and the all started eating the breakfast that Izzy made them.

Once breakfast was over, they decided to spend the day off-duty, exploring the beautiful surroundings of the compound. They hiked through the nearby forest, laughing and chatting as they took in the natural beauty around them. Since Izzy was still on her period she couldn't quite keep up with them.Alex, always considerate, stayed behind walking more slowly with her and discreetly helping her whenever she needed.

At one point, Caleb and Ethan decided to have a friendly race, their competitive nature getting the better of them. Izzy and Alex watched, amused, as the two men dashed through the trees, trying to outrun each other.

"I bet on Ethan!" Izzy called out, earning an appreciative grin and a flirty wink from him.

Alex chuckled and shook his head. "You're going to lose that bet, sweetheart," he said with a cheeky grin.
