Lorelai woke up to an already dressed Marjorie plopping herself down on her bed, a massive grin toying at her lips as she shook the brunette into consciousness.
Before the perky redhead had rudely awakened her from her sleep, the girl had been having quite a nice slumber. As soon as her head hit the pillow the night before, she felt a massive weight lift from her shoulders and for the first time in forever, she had a good sleep.
"First day kiddo, time to get up."
The brunette groaned squeezing her eyes shut as she sank further into her duvet in hopes it would swallow her up whole. Lorelai really couldn't be bothered to drag herself into school today, she could barely motivate herself to move her hand to scratch the itch on her shoulder let alone get herself ready for the first day of school at a brand new high school.
Lorelai did not like being the new girl, she had played that role far too many times for her liking and after the 3rd time, it got kind of boring. Her fathers job required the family to constantly move from one state to the other, consequently meaning the girl had a very dull social life.
To put it into perspective, Lorelai, in her 16 years of life, had moved schools over 24 times. Twenty four times of being the new girl, and people still had the audacity to say they would love to be in her position. What they didn't realise was that after certain amount of times, you realise there's no point in making friends anymore because you'll just have to leave them behind. But hey, what did she know? It wasn't like she was a professional new girl or something.
Marjorie chuckled at the sight of her immature niece who hid beneath the protection of the covers, shaking her head as she pulled the covers away to reveal the brunettes squinted face.
"Earth to Rory?" She called dramatically, her hands frantically scanning the girls face until they pried the girls eyes open, revealing Lorelai's big hazel eyes. The girl groaned even louder, batting the woman's hand away before quickly returning to the safety of the covers like a little hermit crab.
Marjorie sighed at her nieces dramatic tendencies, knowing she wasn't going to budge if she carried on playing nice cop. "Hey, i know," She began looking at the lump of a human tangled in the sheets before her, "how about we play a game, whoever gets up quicker doesn't get a bowl of ice cold water poured onto their face."
A gasp emitted from under the covers as Lorelai realised her aunt was not fooling around. "You wouldn't." She asked, now wide awake under the duvet at the idea of her aunts very real threat.
"Oh but i would." She taunted moving to get up.
Quickly, the covers flied off the teenage girl, her hands grabbing the woman, restraining her from movement and revealing the sheepish grin that sat on the teenagers lips. "Peekaboo?"
Marjorie rolled her eyes before fighting off the girls grip and standing up, leaving the brunette sat upright in her bed. "Hurry up and get dressed, I'll drop you off before i go to work."
