"Do you believe in God?"
I look towards my friend, Simon, who just asked me a question.
"What kind of question is that?" I laugh. We are currently in my bedroom, playing on my console.
I've always known Simon to be the curious type, but the questions he asks can be quite absurd and random at times.
"I mean, yeah obviously I do. How else did everything come into existence" I carry on with the game we were playing but he places his controller down.
"Have you heard about the virus?" Simon's face immediately becomes more serious, which is very unusual for his carefree character.
"Virus?" The atmosphere is more tense now, and as I realise this I pause the game and place my controller next to his, onto the bed.
"Rowan, how do you not know about it. There's all kinds of articles being released about it since yesterday." His brows furrow, he looks concerned.
"I'm not really into reading articles" I give him a sheepish smile.
"Okay, listen. There's been a virus going around in Europe. They don't really know how it's caused, but apparently it's making people turn into cannibals."
My eyes widen, I'm trying to digest all the new information he's giving me.
"But those infected, they only eat brains. So you can't really call them cannibals."
"So like zombies?" I ask worryingly.
He laughs thinking I was just joking around, but his smile immediately drops. "Wait, you're onto something."
I reach for my phone on my nightstand and then type into my phone 'zombies', pressing onto the first article I see.
I quickly scan over the article, 'cannibals', 'virus outbreak', 'low survival chances', no cure'.
"Simon, there's no cure" I place my phone down.
He's now looking me straight in the eye, completely pale.
