A/N - campfire scene inspired by barbie movie because I'm currently obsessed

3:00AM the next night ~~~
Verity's pov:

I hear a buzz from my phone and I decide to look at it since I can't sleep

UNKOWN

-hey it's Matt from last night it was really nice meeting you and having a chat :)
~ oh hi Matt you too how are you ?
-I'm good can't sleep so thought I'd ask you on a date ?
~I'd love that when will it be?
- meet me at L.A beach at 8pm tmr :)
~ ok see you then night :)
-goodnight sweetheart

I feel a smile form as I see him call me sweetheart, I turn off my phone and go to sleep for the night.

Lauren's pov :

"OMG WAKE UP BITCH" I shake awake verity screaming at her
"What is it ?" She says rubbing her eyes awake
" Chris asked me on a date" I squeal
"NO WAY MATT ASKED ME ON A DATE TOO"
We both jump up and hug each other.
We go downstairs and have lunch since we both wake up way too late for our age we get dressed and go off to work when I get another message from Chris

- hey Lauren meet me at L.A beach at 8 tonight xoxo Chris

I smile as twirl in my seat until my boss tells me to get back to work.

I get back home to see very dressed up for her date
"Oooo you look nice babes" I smile and say as I go upstairs to get changed into my dress for the night. We both get into our cars and start driving to our locations
I walk up the beach to see Matt sat by a campfire waiting for me
"Oh hey gorgeous" he smells at me as I sit myself down next to him
" can I play you a song?" He smiles at me as I nod yes. I listen to his song and smile as he gazes into my eyes with his he finishes his song and pulls me in for a kiss, I give in and kiss him back ending the night on a good note
" this was amazing I'll message you tonight to make sure you've made it home safe gorgeous" he smells at me again as I drive off.
I get home to see very on the couch with Matt making out. I slowly walk upstairs to my room and fall asleep happy for myself and verity.

I wake up at 9am to see Matt and very making breakfast together
"Oh hi Matt" I say surprised not realising he spent the night
"Hey Lauren" he smiles as he plates up waffles for all of us
"Hope you don't mind that Matt spent the night he was drunk and couldn't drive home" verity smiles at me and I smile back kind of jealous that Chris didn't invite me back to his but still I was happy for her
I open my phone to see a missed call from Chris

OUTGOING CALL TO CHRIS🤍

"Hey you ok why did you call me so late last night " I say worried
"Oh nothing just wondering where Matt was but he responded saying he was with verity so I figured no need to keep calling"
I can hear him giggling over the end of the line
" haha ok bye then" I laugh and hang up

" who was that ?" Verity questions
" oh just Chris asking where Matt was last night" I laugh and sit down to eat my waffles.
"Yeah I messaged him last night so him and Nick wouldn't worry they are so protective we don't like when we are apart for too long" he smiles " triplet thing" he giggles to himself
"Ohhh haha" verity laughs and kisses Matt on the cheek
" soooo are you two a thing then ?" I laugh kinda jealous that me and Chris arnt if they are
"No not yet haha our beach date just went really well last night" she winks at Matt and laughs
" ended in her making out with me " he laughs
"Wait beach date ?" I say stunned
"Yeah L.A beach" verity smiles
" me and Chris were there too last night" I say in a sad tone that it wasn't that special
"Awe that's nice " Matt and verity say in unison
We all laugh mine kind of sarcastic but still happy
I turn on the tv and start watching some show on Netflix as verity and Matt drive off to matts house to drop him home.

I close my phone as a tear drops off my face with jealousy my thoughts run wild in my head
He likes verity
He doesn't care about you
Your not special
He hated last night
I run outside to the garden to get some fresh air and to clear my mind.
