Title: Paint me a Villain
Genre: Angst
Ship: Jilix
———————————————————————————
The train was rapidly approaching a young boy who was foolishly standing in the middle of the tracks. He hummed along to the song he was listening to and kicked a stone off the tracks.
The train driver could make out a dark figure in the moonlight but mistook it for a wild animal and didn't bother slowing down.
Jisung's eyes widened when he saw Felix on the tracks, unaware of the gruesome fate he was about to face. Felix blinked in the sudden light and turned to see where it was coming from.
He saw the train and froze, quite literally, like a deer in headlights.
He'd always rolled his eyes at the side characters in superhero movies that stood still in apparent fright, just before a big metal pole hit them; now he understood how they felt.
Suddenly, Felix felt a warm pair of hands push him off the track and onto the ground next to where a forest lay.
He heard the train rush past on the tracks and eventually heard someone jump after him.
Jisung ran over to the boy, his voice heavy with worry.
"Felix! Felix, are you ok?"
Felix blinked. He tried hard to stop Jisung from blurring from his vision.
"Felix, please try to stay conscious." Jisung begged, tears rolling down his face.
Jisung's face was quickly blurring into nothing.
Felix's eyes finally shut and he drifted off into a deep sleep.***
He'd never meant for Felix to get hurt. In fact, it was rather the opposite.
Felix had broken his left wrist and his right leg. And to add on top of it, his unblemished face was full of cuts and scars that never healed.
Felix hated Jisung with all his being. He was the reason Felix had to walk with crutches. He was the reason Felix would never be pretty again.
There were hundreds of rumours about how it happened to Felix. Felix lied that Jisung had pushed him in hopes of killing him. He told everyone Jisung had tried to kill him out of spite.
He made Jisung an outcast. No one wanted to be friends with a murderer.
Jisung's mental health slowly deteriorated and he lost the motivation to take care of himself.
People pointed at him and whispered even when the school board announced that he was cleared.
They didn't even bother whispering their insults anymore, in fact, they said them louder each time he past them.
Felix always watched with a smirk on his face. Jisung was getting exactly what he deserved.
***
Jisung stabbed the key into the hole and opened the door.
He walked in and saw his grandma doing yoga in the living room.
"Hey Nona." He said while kissing her cheek.
"Shh! It says here that if I want to achieve full control of the other part of my brain, I must sit here for 3 hours, and I was 30 minutes in!" She said with a annoyed grin.
"Sorry Nona, you get on with your yoga." Jisung said with a giggle.
"Did you have lunch?" She asked with a smile.
"I'm not really hungry."He said while walking away.
"I'll see you later Nona, I have work to do.""He's a weird kid." She chuckled.
Jisung sat at his desk and thought about the events that took place at those train tracks just over a month ago.
He sighed and slumped onto his desk.
He didn't want Felix to get hurt either way. If he had left him in the tracks, he would have died, he had no choice than to push him off the tracks.
Why hadn't Felix told the truth about what happened that night? He told everyone that Jisung had tried to kill him, but that was further from the truth than it could ever be.
Jisung felt his heart break into tiny pieces; too tiny to put back together.
He stopped getting butterflies whenever he saw Felix.
He stopped blushing whenever he heard Felix's name.
He eventually fell out of love with Felix. He felt betrayed. Felix had lost his trust.
Jisung had finally seen how narcissistic and self absorbed Felix truly was, and he wondered how he'd ever fallen in love with him.
