Nerida led me down many long corridors and stairways until we finally reached our room. We entered and I noticed my bloodied clothes were no longer in the bathroom. We sat on the bed next to each other, then she spoke.

"How are you feeling?" She gave me a small sad smile as she pulled her legs under her.

"I-I don't know honestly. I have so many emotions I can't control and it's making me frustrated." I sighed out as I flopped backwards.

"It's okay Jack, panic attacks are normal. The teachers here, they help us to regulate and correctly place our emotions. You're safe here." She said as she laid beside me.

The closeness made me still. My heart was beating quicker now.

"Safe? How can I be safe when they took me from my home? from my family? These 'panic attacks' aren't normal. Throwing somebody into a tree with magic isn't normal." Anger flared through me, the potion was clearly wearing off.

"Jack listen to me, they didn't take you away. They brought you here to help you."

"Help me? How can they help me? They don't even know me!"

"Jack, they do know you. They're here to teach you, but you have to be willing to learn. You have friends, you're not alone. You have to accept this, its the only way things will get better."

"Friends? I don't have any friends here." I chuckled humorously.

"Jack that's not true, you have me. Your roommate. Your friend. I've also heard you left quiet the impression on Dawson."

"You? You're not my friend. You're just like them!"

"Jack so are you, you're a witch. This is where you belong."

"No, no I'm not. I'm not a witch. I'm not anything. I'm nothing but a murderer."

"Jack yes you are. You're a witch, a powerful one at that."

"A powerful witch? That's what you call it? A nightmare more like it. It's ruining my life. It's made me lose everything."

"No, Jack. It's not a nightmare. It's a dream come true. It's giving you everything."

"How? How can it give me everything when it turned me into a killer?"

"What do you mean?"

"My boyfriend. My magic killed him."

"Jack, what happened with your boyfriend?"

"He...he tried to do something to me. I didn't mean to. I'm different now." I began to cry, tears streaked down my face.

"Different? Different how?"

"Different because of this! Because of this stupid magic!"

"Jack, your magic is not stupid. Your magic is amazing."

"Amazing? How can it be amazing when it caused so much pain? When it made me kill him?"

"Jack, it sounds like your magic was protecting you. If you went home, they would be afraid of you. You would've ended up in prison. That's why you need to accept this ."

"Afraid? Afraid of what?"

"Afraid of your power."

"What are you talking about?"

"Jack, you have a power that no one else has. A power that can change the world."

"Change the world? How?"

"I don't know, Jack. But I know that you're special. That you're meant for something great. I overheard Drakos talking about you to Dawson. Most witches have to use spells, and potions to do something like that. "
