As we were driving in the car my dad blasted his music like always. I always liked his music, then one of my favorite songs came on it was 'people are strange' by the doors as we were singing my stepmom turned it down as I looked at the sign "Santa Clara, murder capital of the world, very pleasing and it sounds so safe" y/n said stretching out the so " yes I know it says that but it's not that bad" my stepmom said.
My mom and dad got divorced when I was around five or six. it was fine with me cause I don't really like my mom, my dad has always been my best friend. We don't really talk a lot about my mom so we just started a new life here in California.
we moved out here because we wanted a fresh start from all the drama back home in Missouri and from my old abusive boyfriend named Zach he would always hit me if I did something like talking to other guys or not hanging out with him.
When we got to the house we were unpacking and it was around three when we were done my dad and stepmom Amanda were going on a celebration date. so I then saw my new neighbors and went to go say hi when I saw a blonde haired boy.
He then started to come talk to me "you must be the new family next door right, I'm Sam Sam emerson" "Sam honey can you take this to the new family next door I heard-oh who is this, oh you must be y/n David and Amanda's daughter". "Yes I am but Amanda's my stepmom. "Oh well my apologies we'll see you around I'm going to take this to your dad"
Sam then said "well that's my overall 24/7 happy mom" we both laughed and started walking "well would you like me to show you around the boardwalk " "yeah sure I would like that" as we were walking I noticed something that caught my eye. It was a comic book store.
