Today started off as any other day for you.
Your mother downstairs cleaning, her father no where to be found in the house (probably at work you assume), and your two younger siblings running around the house. Your father works as an apothecary and your mother stays home and takes care of you, your siblings, your father and the house. Your house hold fluctuates from upper middle class to lower middle class through out the year, and since your father is getting older, working in the summer is getting harder for him so your family could use some money but you guys aren't quite desperate.
It feels like its around 67 degrees out but you know it'll feel like 90 later on when the sun finishes rising. You had to wake up early today because your best friend, Lizza, needs help decorating the castle. Today is August 3rd, the twin prince's birthday and they need to have everything PERFECT. After-all, their parents were very good at ruling over the kingdom and they lost them earlier this year on Valentines day. A servant poisoned their wines. And they drunk it as they celebrated the day of love and and they next day, they were found dead, holding eachother close in bed. Since then, the princes became less active in the ruling of the kingdom and with celebrations until now. They are going to open the castle for the party and hopefully choose someone to replace the servant that had to be exucuted.
You and Lizza arrive at the castle, and it was alot bigger than what it looked like on the outside. Light gray marbled walls, with mismatched banners having either navy blue and gold, or red and gold to represent the two brothers. You had been ordered to keep the curtains in the grand room closed and the curtains were very heavy and thick, there was no way ANY sun would get through these.
MUCH LATER [8pm-ish, the sun has set]
The party has started about an hour ago and you are getting bored of waiting around and talking to strangers. You could have just left already but Lizza didn't want to be alone at this party with no other friends. You both talk for a bit until you feel the urge to use the restroom. Your friend tells you how to get there.
So now, you are in the hallways of the castle searching for their privy. You open a door exactly where she said it would be, but when you look inside you find a beautiful luxorius bedroom with its own private bathroom. You go inside and walk to the bathroom and do your business but when you ome out you notice that the sheets are made of silk and you just HAVE to touch them, You put your hand on it and then soon enough you were laying on a bed fit for a god when all of a sudden-
*click*
The doorknob is being twisted open. You rush under the bed to hide. You can see 2 people enter the room and they begin to speak.
"I'm so SICK of this."
"hey, it'll be ok! You- no, WE are going to get over this!"
"I don't know if I CAN get over our parents being KILLED and BETRAYED by their own people. I just fucking can't."
You can't see their faces at all so you try to get lower and closer to the edge until...
A ball rolled out from your pocket and hit the nearby desk. A little glass marble. You had forgotten your sister had put that in there.
They heard it and both turned around and began walking closer and closer until....
