First period English here we go. After a weekend of laying around in bed and doing absolutely nothing, I was actually excited to go back to school that Monday morning. Now here I was, that excitement slowly fading, standing in a pair of lightwash blue ripped jeans, a black nirvana t shirt, and a bandana sitting on my head holding all my hair back except for my bangs and two thick strands of hair by my head.
At least I looked good...
But, enough about me. I was standing here waiting for one reason.
Lia would be getting here soon.
I usually waited for her here on the benches, but today the benches were damp with rain water, and since my pants were light blue, I couldn't risk my ass getting soaked. People would think I was a Neanderthal.
I looked around again, then a few minutes passed by and Lia walked around the corner with her backpack hanging off one shoulder, her tennis shoes in hand, and a poster in the other.
"BESTIE." She said, staring at me intensely. Her short little legs carried her hastily toward me on the damp sidewalk.
My eyebrows raised and I smiled. "Yes--?" I inquired, waiting for whatever news she had brought me this morning. It was always something interesting with this girl. She was so funny.
"You have class with Jordan right!?" She asked.
...
Okay, you're probably wondering, "Who's Jordan?"
Well, Jordan is a kid in my first period English class. He is friends with Elias, and Elias is friends with Zachary. Jordan is sort of a wannabe 'cool guy' who tries to get close to Zach and his goons so he can be popular. Popularity is like that kids number one goal.
Anyway, you're probably wondering why Lia is asking about Jordan. Well, as you may have guessed, Lia has a crush on Jordan.
Obviously, I don't know what to tell her. I mean, Jordan won't even turn his eyeballs in the direction of anyone who isn't his idol Zachary, Elias, or some thin blonde chick, let alone a curvy, short, blue-haired emo girl who hangs out in the library in her spare time.
Of course, I'd never let Lia know, but she has no chance with Jordan, just as I have no chance with Zachary.
...
"You have class with Jordan right?" She asked me, her eyes wide and expecting.
"Umm...yes. What are you getting at?"She sighed as we started walking and it took her about 2 seconds to begin again. What the hell was that gremlin up to now?
"Well, I wanted to ask you a favor."Oh god...
"Hm?" I muttered. She looked at me as she opened the front door to school and we walked through to the cafeteria.
"There's a rumor going around the school that Zach is having a kick-off party to start to the school year at his house. I need you to find out details.""How in the hell am I gonna do that?" I asked, absolutely puzzled. There's no way I would be able to, statistically. I mean, Jordan doesn't even consider losers like us, and also, what in the hell did she want to do with a party?
"Well, you can just sit at the table and start talking to him and ask about it. Wasnt Jordan friends with Cam?" Lia asked, staring at me expectantly as we rode the elevator down to the library.
