Chapter 21: Only for Adults

"Listen." Ben had been sitting in my desk chair running his hands through his hair for a good minute at this point. "When a man and women love each other."

"Whooo Ben stop stop stop! Momma and Papa already gave me the sex talk. Plus we have health class in middle school." I so didn't want to go through this talk again much less with Ben.

"Oh thank God giving the talk to the boys was easy but giving it to my baby sister was not something I wanted to do." He let out a sigh of relief then narrowed his eyes at me. "This is all I will say about it though it is for adults that are in love and only adults. Understand?"

"So you love the stranger that's in our house right now?" I raise my eyebrow giving him a questioning look. "If you love her why is she a secret?"

"I am not required to tell you kids everything?" His tone changed to slightly annoyed.

"Apparently you don't tell us anything." I roll my eyes. "And Reuben, Bruce and Logan are not kids."

"You need to watch your tone young lady."

"She has a point. How come none of us know about this friend of yours. Are you two dating?" Sam asked pulling our attention to the door where he was leaning.

Ben sighs shaking his head. "I just don't want to drag anyone in your alls life that isn't a guarantee person to stay."

"I thought sex was only for adults that love each other." I use my hands to put air quotes around the last half of my sentence. I knew what sex was and Pa tried to say it was for people who were in love too. However when he left Momma told us the truth. Although a lot of people have sex with people they love and that's the end goal sometimes that is not the case. For all we know this girl that was with Ben could be just a one night stand. Or should I say one "day" stand.

"Ugh! Look can you hold off your questions til we can have a family meeting?" Ben looked between Sam and I.

"Nope." We both replied popping the p.

"What's her name?" I asked.

"How long have you know her?" Sam smiled enjoying the fact that Ben was flustered.

"Can we meet her? But with her clothes on this time." I laughed and so did Sam.

"Speaking of which why the couch? Dude your room is right upstairs you really couldn't make it that far?"

"Can we burn the couch?" I asked making Sam bust out into deep bully chuckles.

"THATS ENOUGH!" Ben's voice boomed as his face grew red. "You two are done unless you want my hand to answer your questions while it turns your asses red."

"No sir." We both said looking down at the ground.

"Now you will both go back to school and not say a word about this to any of your brothers."

Sam's face seemed to turn white as he shivered. "Um that's a little too late. I sent a message out in the family group chat."

"FUCK!" Ben yelled out in frustration pulling out his phone to see the damage. "Head back to school and we will talk about this tonight after the game."

We both nod and I grab my bag. "I got both Wes and Jere's clothes." Sam said pointing to the duffle in his hands as we walk out of my room and down the hall.

We got into the car and headed to school, both of us silent for half of the ride until I ask. "Do you think Ben is going to bring her into our lives now?"

I won't lie I was a little nervous to have another women taking my brothers attention. They made me feel like a Princess and what if this girl took that away. Did I sound selfish? Probably, however I really wanted her to be a one night stand. I wanted to always be my brothers number one girl. In the fairy tale the step mom was always dreadful what if she was like that? What if she changes Ben and make him hate me?

"If he really likes her he might now." Sam glanced over at me then back at the road. "Kat, Ben will always put us first. Nothing and no one will get in the way of that. If he loves her though I am sure she is nice."

Sam is right, Ben will always put us first. I just hope she is nice!
