A Gifts Misuse

Denial

     He didn't expect it. Leo didn't expect his brother's gift to hurt him. It hurt him for the most ridiculous reason. It hurt him when he made a joke, every time he made one, in fact. There must have been something wrong with the gift. 

     At first, he thought it was a malfunction when it first shocked him. The second time proved otherwise... No. It had to be a mistake. It had to be... 

     There was something wrong with it. Unless... No. His humor was amazing. Shockingly so. 

     Donnie probably didn't even mean to have it hurt him. It all worked out the end anyway. Donnie got captured by Meat Sweats, so he slapped the gift onto the villain and shocked him with his witty humor. Literally. Donnie could say he and their brothers used the gifts "wrong" all he wanted, it didn't matter. 

     What did Donnie want him to do, stop making jokes? 

     ... 

     ...Regardless, Donnie was saved by them being their awesome selves and "misusing" their gifts. 

     Even each of the brothers' gifts ended up messing with their mojo, he couldn't bother throwing his own out. Despite tuning out or walking away from Donnie when he went speech mode, he knew Donnie put some serious effort into his creations. All of his creations, especially gifts meant for each individual brother. Though Leo's was the most aggressive, he was sure it was an accident. A shocking one, but one nonetheless. 

     It didn't mean anything that Donnie was only mad that they were misusing their gifts, not that it shocked Meat Sweats. 

     Donnie just wanted to help them improve. He probably didn't want Leo to stop with the jokes... Despite him telling him he's not funny... Leo didn't want to think about what Donnie's idea of improvement for him likely was. 

     Leo would continue to make his punny jokes. Donnie wouldn't mind. If not... Donnie's big brain could mind itself. 

     Whatever the sentiment of the gift was, Donnie surely didn't hate his jokes THAT much, when Leo got home, he threw it into the closet. Lots of things got lost in people's closets, so hopefully he could lose this in his.
