Events take place during the final scene of Good Omens Season 2, Episode 6; Every Day
Crowley looked at Aziraphale with a conflicted glare. "Tell me, tell me you said no." The demon looked at the angel with a resemblance of hope in his eyes.. Just a tiny bit. "-Tell me you said no." he whispered, the glint in his eyes vanished.
Angel took a deep inhale. "..if I'm in charge,"" he paused and looked ahead, "I can make a difference"
Crowley paused, stunned. "Oh..." he sighed and chuckled in disbelief and averted his gaze from the man in front of him, "Oh God. Right, okay." he muttered to himself. "Right, soo.." forcing the words out of his now aching throat. "I.. I didn't get the chance to say what I was going to say, I think I'd better say it now, right,?" He spoke fast and tried his best not to stumble on his words. "Ok, yes, so,-" He sighed as he tried to get himself together.
Aziraphale was staring at the man fumbling in front of him, confused and concerned.
"We've known each other for a long time" the demon looked on and gulped. "We've been on this planet for a long time. I mean, you and me" he continued "I could always rely on you, you could always rely on me." He took a needed breath of air. "We're a team, A group. Group of the two of us... And we've.. spent our existence pretending that we aren't.."
At this point, the Demon Crowley can not hold it in any longer. He was eager.. He was desperate, he can't bare to lose the only person that he cared for his entire existence.
"Aziraphale," the man's voice started to tremble. "If Gabriel and Beelzebub can do it, go off together, then we can! Just the two of us. We dont have sides, we dont need them, and they certainly dont need us, Angel.. "
The angel took a deep breath and slowly approached his demon, "Oh Crowley.. This is the only chance we can make a huge impact. I'll be in charge and you'll be my second-in command, we can make a difference and you'll be up there with everyone else, just like before.. We can still be the two of us there. We can be forever there.. Us." Angel whispered as he looked the demon in his eyes and gently caressed his cheeks.
"No.." the demon mumbled.. "No no, no, i.. Angel, i dont want to be there, i dont want to go back there," he muttered under his breath as he pushed himself away from the other man, "-because my life is way happier with you here, on earth! I dont need heaven, we dont need heaven to make a difference" he protested "The difference is here, with you.. Just stay." tears started forming on the demon's eyes, he sighed as he took his old glasses out and covered his eyes so that the other man won't even notice how hurt the demon actually was.
"I know that you care, Crowley, but this is my purpose, my calling, I'm an angel and this is what I'm meant to do." Aziraphale hesitantly pleaded.
"No.. Don't you see Aziraphale? They'll turn you against me. They'll tear us apart, twist your intentions until you don't recognize yourself anymore, they'll control you up there because they knew they can manipulate you, all in the name of some divine plan.." Crowley kept choking up his words, the pain from his chest and throat can be heard with each word he spoke..
"You don't know what you're saying, Crowley"
"Oh I do.. If i dont then i wouldn't be here, i would still be up there like a mindless pawn.:"
"..."
"Aziraphale, they dont care about you.. They.. they try to wipe you out of existence, of course you wouldn't know coz..coz i was the one there, i-" he choked. "..Losing you would be a nightmare I would beg to be awaken from.."
The room fell into an ear-deafening silence.
"Crowley, this is for the greater good of everyone, humanity, the world," the angel started to feel a poke in his throat and a painful sting in his eyes. "This is not just about you."
The demon immediately rushed towards the angel and took off his glasses. "Look at me, Aziraphale! Look me in the eyes!" he barked "Tell me that you've never loved me. Tell me that i didn't mean anything to you! Tell me that what I've felt for milenia was all one sided.. Tell me, Angel. Tell me that it was all a lie.."
"Crowley.."
"Because you saying those words would hurt way less than leaving.. " tears started to pour out the demon's eyes, it started to burn his cheeks like acid burns through fragile things it touches, it grazed his skin slowly, making it as painful as it can get, like salt in a deep wound. "Listen to what i'm trying to tell you. We can make a difference here, together.. You and me."
Aziraphale immediately wiped the tears off of Crowley's face as he too began to shed some too..
"Do you think I'd drop my walls like this just for anyone else, Angel?.." the demon mumbled.
"No, i.. "
"Do you love me.."
"Crowley.."
"Aziraphale, do you love me?."
"Yes I-"
Without any hesitation, Crowley grabbed Aziraphale by the arm, pulling him close to his body, grabbed the back of his head and kissed the angel deeply. Their first kiss after thousands of years. The first time they were true to each other, the time that the demon did not hiss a single lie, the time that the angel finally took a bite out of the forbidden fruit.
A soft melody of bliss and love engulfed the two men as their lips locked onto one another, not even wanting to let go, desperate and deprived as tears rolled down both of their cheeks.
A decision was made. At that very moment, they both knew what they wanted. Each other. They have no sides. From the very start it was them, and till the end of times, till worlds shatter and be rebuilt like a phoenix, from galaxies and stars being created to its destruction, till universes collide to one another. They know that they will have each other. They know that some things last forever.
