No, you're not blind. You just read that someone thought the word "I." Yes, this is actually a first person story, yes I have held off until now to reveal myself to you and yes, I am, in fact, speaking directly to you, reader.

I am Stalwart. You could call me a multiversal guardian or watcher. I view each and every equal form of this universe and make sure it is protected from all forms of any interdimensional threat. I remember when this universe was first born, and I watch its story fondly every time I come across it. Yes, each time.

Allow me to clarify. The theory of the multiverse simplified is this: there is a dimensional barrier separating ours from an infinite amount of others. You can cross to the others, but it would require an enormous amount of power to do so. Not everyone tells you the confusing part of the multiverse theory, but it is this: there are an infinite number of different universes, but since there are an infinite number of universes, there are also infinite copies of the exact same universe.

The names of the characters in the original source material of this story are, quite unfortunately, unknown, yet the basic plot remains the same. Said basic plot of the story of this universe, and its exact copies, is one that may be familiar to some. They, in the more advanced universes in existence, have played the video game called Castle Crashers. In it, you can choose between a number of characters to save the princesses of the realm.

You have heard enough from me, now I shall return you to the story.

Jesmayne saw Anthony round a corner and disappear from sight. She followed, but when she turned the corner, Anthony had vanished. Jesmayne had been confused before, but her face now showed that she felt absolutely confounded. She was so befuddled she didn't even notice the puddle of frigid water she had just stepped into.

How seldom people look up, I thought with an amused smirk.

Jesmayne strode forward, looking tentatively from side to side. Eva peeked around the corner, confused on why Jesmayne was looking everywhere, except up, as she slowly walked forward. Eva heard the faintest grunt from above her. She looked up, eyes wide, then smiled.

There was Sir Anthony, hanging from a slightly protruding stone brick. He brought a finger to his mouth in a gesture that told Eva to remain quiet. She nodded.

Anthony dropped to the floor and landed without making the slightest bit of sound. He slunk toward Jesmayne with a predatory gleam in his eyes. He then stopped and waited until Jesmayne's ankles touched, then he lunged and utilised his ice magic to freeze her legs together.

Jesmayne gasped as she was dangled upside down above the toilet. Eva couldn't help but crack a smile. Anthony smirked. He turned his dangling victim around so she could see the observing party attendees.

"What?" she asked. Her face revealed that she was utterly flabbergasted. "You, how, what? Why would you-?"

"Because I care not for your advances," Anthony cut her off in a low growl. "I never have and I never will. Can you understand that?"

"Yes," Jesmayne squeaked. "Please put me down. Away from the toilet."

"You will not try anything with me ever again," Anthony said. He turned Jesmayne upright, then dropped her in front of the toilet, where the ice he had conjured shattered and quickly melted, soaking into her dress.

"That was interesting," Eva said when she and Anthony exited.

"Would you care to know how long she's been at this?" Anthony asked. Eva nodded. "Around... oh, maybe six months at the most."
