{YA'LL, I DIDNT MEAN TO NOT UPDATE FOR SO LONG- I've been really busy trying to come up with more ideas for this book and other books I have, while also being busy with out of Wattpad stuff. Thanks for understanding!!}
Ross took careful steps, seeming more awake than usual tonight due to the previous energy drinks he had consumed. Robert waited with a smile, seeming to gleam and shimmer with joy as Ross approached closer and sat on the swing aside of him. They didn't even swing, they just sat aside of each other in the empty and dark park...
"You look extra energetic...did something happen?"
Robert asked, locking eyes with Ross. Ross glanced back at him and felt a vague pink dust and warm up his cheeks, gazing at Robert's features...this caused his heart to beat even faster, the speed of the energy drink adrenaline colliding with his natural senses.
"...Uh...No, not really...just feeling extra jumpy 'cause I drank both of those energy drinks. I guess they're still in effect or something.."
He replied back quietly, staring for another long while before turning to look forwards. Robert swung on his swing slightly, trying to think of something else to talk about.
"...Hm. Damn dude...uh, Ross? I have...a question for you..well, if that's cool with you."
Robert said, still looking at Ross. Ross continued to look forwards, swinging his feet slightly.
"A question? Uh, sure. Go for it man."
He replied, staring down at his legs as they limply swung around. Robert was still on his swing, no longer moving as he stared at Ross intently.
"Are you hiding something? I mean, not in some superstitious and paranoid way! I just mean that-...gosh, how do I explain this..?"
Robert sucked at explaining things, even the simplest things. Ross looked over at him with curiosity, watching Robert look away and think...Robert seemed concerned.
"...Uh...well...you and Roy have been pretty-...I dunno...close? I mean- I'm not saying that I want you to only be my friend! Just-...I feel a bit left out nowadays. I feel like sometimes you're purposely trying to avoid specific conversations with me. You just-....I dunno Ross...you're so vague to me...than you run off with Roy and keep secrets from me....I feel like you guys know something that I don't..."
Rober muttered, his hands clenching the chains of the swing as he sat on it, looking to the ground in shame and guilt...Robert hated feeling like he needed more attention from his friends, it made him feel selfish...
Robert was silent for a while, and so was Ross...Robert was starting to think that he shouldn't have brought this up...what if they thought he was clingy or too attached? What if he was just overthinking this? I mean, they're friends too! He can't just have them all to himself...plus, it's not like-
Robert felt arms wrap around him softly, trapping him in a warm and caring embrace. His head perked up and he looked at Ross, who was hugging him in hopes to comfort and console him...Robert slowly smiled, hugging back. Ross sighed.
"Dude....I'm sorry, I didn't know you felt this way. I can totally hang out with you more often too..! With and without Roy...I didn't mean to hurt your feeling or make it look like I'm keeping secrets.."
He replied, letting go of the hug to sit back down on the swing aside of Robert's. He made a triangular smile towards Robert, a hand resting upon the smooth fabric of Robert's greenish jacket.
"Is there some sorta way I can make it up to you? I can buy you something, or talk things out with Roy too? Or set up some sort of hangout schedule? Or-"
"Ah-ah-ah-! Ross, chill dude...all I needed was for you to know that I feel that way. Thanks dude. Just-...try not to keep secrets from me or anything. It makes me feel a bit left out and a-...a bit insecure since you're only telling Roy, and not me.."
Robert cut him off with a smile, his cheeky grin returning, a sense of relief washing over his body. Ross nodded, acknowledging it...it was silent for a while after that once again before Ross got up from his swing. Robert looked at him in confusion.
"Dude, let's play here in the playground. No one's here, so no one will know we're acting like little kids, right?"
Ross grinned, feeling energetic still and wanting to lighten up the mood with games. Robert laughed a bit, getting up. He dragged Ross by the hand to the monkey bars, stopping in front of it.
"Dude...let's see who can get up the fastest. Whoever wins gets a prize!"
Robert said, offering a fun game. Ross grinned a little more, nodding and accepting the challenge. They counted down from three and soon went racing to the top, climbing up quickly until-
"HAHAH! I won! Sick!"
Ross laughed triumphantly, at the top of the monkey bars before Robert. Robert playfully groaned in fake-disappointment.
"Ahhhh, dammit...I mean, I probably need to start exercising more, I'm getting hella slow bro."
Robert chuckled, climbing back down with Ross. They gave each other a quick high five and Ross crossed his arms, looking up at Robert proudly.
"Hell yeah! So, what's my prize? Some sorta candy? Or a hug? Maybe you'll get me something? What is it?"
He asked curiously, wanting to know what it was. Robert laughed slightly before taking Ross's hand, bringing him back up the monkey bars. He led him to sit down on them carefully, sitting aside of him.
"Yup! I got the perfect prize...try looking...up..."
Ross rose a brow curiously, slowly moving his head to glance up at the night sky...
"Woah dude....the stars never look this bright...right?"
Robert shook his head no, in the sense that Ross was incorrect.
"Wrong...they're always like this...and almost always will be...it's just the bright lights in town illuminate the night so much that we rarely get a chance to see them at their full beauty...cool right? I like to stay here until the town lights turn off so I can see them..."
Ross nodded with a smile...Robert was silent, moving his gaze from the sky to gaze at Ross to see his reaction to the stars...though, once he did, he couldn't help but notice a few small things about Ross that he never noticed before...like how sweet his weird smile actually looked...and...well, how his eyes glistened in the night as the stars reflected onto Ross' eyes...and how soft his cheeks looked...and how his eyeliner looked extra nice tonight, though slightly messy...
Ross felt Robert's eyes on him, and slowly moved his gaze to look back at Robert with that same sweet smile...Robert felt-...strange. He slightly gulped, feeling his heart dance with glee as they stared into one another's eyes...their eyes never left one another...Robert noticed how luscious and smooth Ross' hair looked too...damn...what the hell was going on??
...They silently stared for a while before Robert broke the gaze, clearing his throat in slight embarrassment as he looked back up at the sky, his eyes now fixating on the starry night above them. Robert felt his hand sweating and he realized he was still holding Ross' hand, causing him to let it go after gazing down at their hands. Almost by instinct, Ross reached back and held onto Robert's hand again.
"Wait-...uh..sorry..erm...can we-...hold hands a bit longer? Just for a bit?"
Ross asked, making Robert's cheeks slightly warm up. He felt that this was an unfamiliar feeling...but okay...he held back onto Ross' hand, and they both looked back up to the sky...Ross scooted a little closer to Robert, leaning onto his shoulder as he looked up with him at the star filled night...
"...Starry Park-Nights Kick Ass Dude..."
