The days passed, and a sense of unease settled within the Kim household. Mrs. Kim Yuri, Y/n's mother, had always been a strong-willed woman, but lately, her dominance over the family had grown stronger. She took charge of every decision, leaving little room for Mr. Kim to voice his opinions. Her authoritative demeanor cast a shadow over the once-harmonious family, and tensions began to rise.

Y/n noticed the change in her mother's behavior and couldn't help but worry about her step-father, who seemed increasingly distant and reserved. She tried to talk to him, but he would brush her concerns aside, not wanting to burden her with their family issues.

One evening, as Y/n sat in her room, contemplating her mother's actions, she received a call from an old friend—Canny from YG Entertainment and also, her new roommate.

On The Phone:

Y/n: (Excitedly picking up the phone) Hello?

Canny: (Cheerfully) Hey, Y/n-ie unnie! Long time no see! How have you been?

Y/n: (Smiling) Canny-ah, it's so good to hear from you! I've been doing okay, just trying to figure things out. How about you?

Canny: (Eagerly) I've been great! Busy with all the preparations for the last evaluation. And speaking of which, have you heard the news?

Y/n: (Curiously) News? What news?

Canny: (Excitedly) YG is planning to debut a new girl group, and they're holding the final evaluation to select the members. It's going to start in a week!

Y/n: (Surprised) Wow, that's amazing! I had no idea. I think I did get a mail from the company regarding this but I just read it half-way through. 

Canny: They will give out the list of only 7 trainees who will be selected and eligible to participate and compete. 

Y/n: (Feeling hopeful) Really?

Canny: (Warmly) Of course! You've always been a great performer, and I believe you'd be a perfect fit for this group. I think your name will surely be there!

Y/n: (Gratefully) Thank you so much, Canny. I appreciate your support. I'll give it my all and see where it takes me.

Canny: (Encouraging) That's the spirit! I'll set up everything for you, and we'll see each other at the evaluation. I can't wait to see you shine on that stage!

Y/n: (With determination) I can't wait to see you too. Thanks for believing in me babybun. 

Canny: (Happily) You're welcome hehe. Friends support each other, right? Now go and practice like there's no tomorrow! You're going to rock that stage.

Y/n: (Chuckles) I will, I promise. Thanks again, Cannies. You're the best.

Canny: (Playfully) I know I am. Now get to work, superstar! I'll be rooting for you all the way.

Y/n: (Laughing) I will, I will. Take care, Can, and see you soon!

Canny: (Cheerfully) Take care, unnie. Good luck! You've got this!

Call Ends

As Y/n hung up the phone, a surge of excitement and nerves washed over her. The opportunity to compete for the debut of a new girl group was beyond her wildest dreams. She knew she had to give it her all and prove herself once again.
