Stromboli Pov:
When I looked at Geppetto, I could see the pain in his eyes. I'd never seen anyone look the way he does right now. He looked like a deer in headlights. His eyes were big and it felt like he was staring right into my eyes. He had opened up to me in a way that no one has before. He told me something about him. He's just so... I don't know how to describe it other than, perfect.
I smiled at him and he looked surprised when I did. I'm guessing he's never told anyone about his love for astronomy. It made me feel special. I would hold this information and keep it safe for as long as I am alive. It's much to fragile to share. I reached over and squeezed his hand. I had no words, this was the only thing I could do. I'm afraid If I talk, I will break everything, so for now it's better to be silent.
"Thank you for telling me this." I said. He almost looked surprised by this comment. I honestly don't know why I said it, It just felt so special that it almost felt like I asked for it.
"Uh, You're welcome I guess," He laughed. For the first time in the last 24 hours he actually smiled. I real smile that lit up the whole room. He squeezed my hand back and then stood up and put his bowl in the sink.
"I'm gonna go get changed and then I'll walk you home," He said. "Oh, I was thinking I could stay awhile, maybe we could hangout." He gave me that surprised look again. Is everything I say shocking or something? Whatever, he stood there for a minute before he responded, "Sure, only if you want to thought."
"Of course I want to, that's why I asked." His cheeks turned red at that comment. He was very embarrassed. "Oh, uh ya. Right, Um I'll be right back." He ran out of the room so fast I couldn't even get a word in. I rinsed out the bowls and and placed them In the drying rack. While I was looking for the non existent cups again, I realized I didn't bring a change of clothes. Granted, I didn't think I was staying the night. I ran to the front door to get my shoes and knocked on Geppettos door. When I got no response, I opened the door and saw a half naked Geppetto standing holding his shirt up to put it on. He covered his body and his whole face turned red. I could feel my own cheeks turn a bit rosy and forgot why I came in here in the first place. "I'm uh, going to run and get clothes from my house. I'll be back in a bit," I mumbled. Before he could respond, I slammed the door and ran out. When I opened the front door and saw a little wooden boy standing on the front porch. He could barely stand or walk in a straight line. He looked real bad. I tried to ask him something but he just ran away the second he saw me. Probably cause I kidnapped him awhile ago, but whatever. I started on my way home passing markets and bookstores. About a block away from my house I saw an interesting vendor. They were selling little rock's. Each rock came with a bad that matched its color and you could easily fit it into one of your pocket. One in particular caught my Eye. It was a small blue stone in the shape of a star. It was shiny and when the sun shone on it, you could see hints of gold. It reminded me of the astronomy fqct Geppetto had told me. I walked over and asked the man behind the table how much they were. "They are 5 dollars each," he replied. How could something so beautiful be so affordable. Before I could register what I was doing, I bought it. "Do you want a note to go along with it?" He asked. I thought about it and I said "Yes." He grabbed out a piece of paper and a pen, and looked up at me asking me with his eyes what I wanted it to say. When I was done He handed it back to me and I continued on my way back home.word count: 741
