A/N: A TIVA comfort oneshot, hope you enjoy Ziva comforting Tony after nightmares. Enjoy, Angels.
Ziva is walking down the aisle, holding onto Gibbs's arm. She's smiling, looking breathtaking in her strapless white dress. Tears prick at the corner of his green eyes as she walks towards him, he's never seen a more beautiful human being. He smiles as Gibbs puts her hand in his, slapping his shoulder before standing beside Tony. The entire ceremony is a blur until it's their vows.
Ziva goes first.
"Tony, my little hairy butt, you are the strongest man I know, you can overcome anything life throws at you. I am so proud of you, you make me stronger, and you make me get up in the morning. I love you so much, Tony DiNozzo." Ziva says with tears in her voice. Tony smiles.
Tony goes next.
"Sweet cheeks, the day I met you, my partner, my sister, had just been shot and killed right in front of me and I hated you but over time I came to love you. When I need you, you drop everything for me, you hold me when I need to be held, you comfort me when I need to be comforted. You complete me. The world could be ending and the only thing I could care about was whether you were okay. You are the love of my life, I love you, Ziva David."
A gunshot rings out and everyone jumps into action: Tony covers his soon-to-be-wife, Gibbs, Jenny and McGee get their guns as several more gunshots ring out. When the suspect is injured and cuffed, Tony feels his gut churn as he looks down at Ziva.
"Ziva!" Tony yells at Ziva.
A red stain is growing across her white dress.
Tears are spilling down his face as he lies down on the floor.
"I love you, Tony. I'm so sorry that I never became your wife." Ziva says, her voice is fading. Tony shakes her head. "In my eyes you've always been my wife, it doesn't matter what a piece of paper says, you've always been my wife. I love you, Ziva David-DiNozzo." Tony replies before kissing her lips.
His 'wife' dies in his arms.
Tony DiNozzo wakes up in a sweat, his wife's name in his throat. A soft hand is rubbing up and down his back.
"It is okay, Tony, it is just a dream." His wife whispers as he shakes his head. "It felt real, Zi." Tony says quietly.
"Do you want to talk about it?" She asks, Tony gives her a small smile. "I'm fine, babe, don't worry." She says giving her a kiss before settling back to sleep with his arms around his wife.
A week later:
Ziva stalks into the kitchen with a scowl on her face.
"Okay, Tony, I have had enough of you shutting me up! Talk to me about these nightmares!" Ziva snaps at her husband, walking into their kitchen after waking up alone in their bed for the seventh time in a row. She knows these nightmares are terrifying for him but he should know that he can talk to her about them, but he doesn't. Tony just sips his coffee at the table, irritating his assassin wife.
"Are you sure you want to hear about them?" He asks with a quiet sigh, Ziva takes a seat next to her stubborn husband and steals his coffee in one hand and takes one of his hands in her free one. "Of course I do, I am your wife." She says softly. Tony looks at her with a sad smile on his face as he begins to talk to her.
"The nightmare always starts when you're walking down the aisle with Gibbs, we do our vows but before the minister announces us as husband and wife, shots are fired and they hit you and you die in my arms, every time." Tony says quietly, tears filling his eyes. Ziva strokes her thumb.
"I am right here, Tony. It was just a nightmare, I am not dead."
Tony smiles at his wife. "I know, but every time we walk out that door, there's always a part of me that thinks that one of us won't walk through the door again." Tony admits. Ziva nods her head.
"I am too, Tony, but when we are together, we can do anything, including coming home." Ziva says. Tony nods.
"I love you, Ziva." Tony says quietly, Ziva smiles at her adoring husband.
"I love you too, Tony." Ziva leans forward and kisses her husband deeply.
She knows that her husband will always have nightmares, so will she, it's a part of their dangerous and sometimes heartbreaking job, but she knows she will always be there for her husband and comfort him, like he will do for her.
"Oh and sweet cheeks?" Tony asks once they've pulled away. Ziva cocks her head to the side.
"Yes, my little hairy butt?" She questions with a raised eyebrow.
"It's 'shutting me out' not 'shutting me up.'" Tony replies.
Ziva just giggles at her misuse of another American phrase. It's worth the grammatical error to get a smile out of her husband.
A/N: I love TIVA, I hope you enjoy this fluffy oneshot, Angels.
