"That's your soulfinder? Why didn't you say anything yesterday?" His brother asked. I know his name, it's starts with a T- was it Travis? Troy? Trey? Tren- Trace, sweetheart. His name is Trace. His wonderful laugh rang in my mind. I looked up at him and found him smiling, his gaze on his family.
"To answer your question, Trace-" He smiled cheekily down at me, emphasizing his brother's name to mock me. "-We just found out an hour ago, but I had a feeling that it could be her when I met her at the police station."
"Police station? Well, you two have a lot in common then- with Victor here hating the law when he was younger. Such a badass." One of his brothers commented and I looked up once again, this time with a raised eyebrow.
You? Hating the law? Well, isn't that ironic. I teased and he pressed his hand against my back, a small smirk on his lips. I can be bad when I want to. I even have a bike, one that I will be taking you on in the future.
Before I could comment on that his mother came to greet me, pulling me into her embrace. "It is so lovely to meet you. I'm Karla, Victor's mother. And these are his brothers and their Soulfinders. Welcome to the family, Clea." She grinned with tears in her eyes, making me feel more emotional.
Family, I thought. Happiness was bubbling inside me.
Yes, family. You are my family now, as I'm yours.
Stop saying things like that or else I will end up sobbing in front of your family and they will think I belong in a mental institute. His laugh rang through my mind and I couldn't fight the smile that showed up on my lips.
"Oh no, they're at that stage. All smiley and goofy-looking." The youngest looking brother commented with a small, teasing smile on his lips.
"So Clea- what's your ability?" The girl that hugged me earlier asked from her seat and I looked up at Victor. Can I show them instead of telling them? Or at least try out on one of them?
Go for it. Try it on Zed. He said with mischief in his eyes and I raised my eyebrow. And that is?
The one that has the small blonde girl on his lap. He nudged his head to his left and I saw the couple that was in their own world. Didn't he just say that we were in that stage? Looks to me as if they are the same.
All of the senses or one of them? I asked Victor, keeping my eyes on the couple. I could sense his amusement in my mind. Start with his hearing- he'll go nuts.
I focused on him and took away his hearing and I could see the confusion in his eyes as he stared at his Soulfinder. I couldn't help the small laugh that escaped my mouth and Victor was shaking beside me.
"Clea? You haven't answered my question- I mean, you don't have to tell us if you feel uncomfortable." The girl I still have no name for spoke up again. That's Diamond, sweetheart.
When Zed tilted his head like a confused puppy, Victor finally laughed out loud and caught the attention of everyone in the room, including Zed. "No- it's not that. Just focus Zed right now." He told his family and everyone looked at us crazy.
"Yo, Vick- Your lips are moving but I can't hear what you're saying." Zed said a bit too loudly, making his Soulfinder jump up from his lap.
"What is wrong with you? Are you trying to make me deaf?" She shouted back and he looked at her with a frown. It looked like they were trying to use telepathy but it doesn't work.
What's her name? I asked Victor while watching the couple, feeling a bit bad. Sky and she's Zed's Soulfinder but I'm guessing you figured that one out.
