THIRD PERSON
A week.
That's all the time the group had to figure something out. Sammy had sacrificed her position in the administration to allow the victims of the game to think without the fear of murder.
Some questioned why she would even do such a thing, especially so late into the killing game. Her motives were completely unknown, yet they all provided her with comfort and care.
After Sam's leave, everyone was left with more questions unanswered. Sammy stated that there had been previous killing games similar to the current one. Hydra was now the one in charge, leaving everyone to wonder if his rules and regulations would be safer or not.
However, as confusing as things were, there was luckily one common goal whenever they returned to the living room.
"The rooms are different." Vanta was quick to note the moment he tried walking to his room. "Everyone, make sure to reread the plates."
"How did she change them so quickly?" Grace muttered to herself.
"She does have a team with her." Sammy muttered lowly as she stepped closer to read the new names. "Loki...we're sharing a room."
The Zoroark flashed her a gentle smile as she stepped closer to open the room door for the Braixen.
Galant had already walked up to read his own name carved on the door. "Luster, you're with me."
"Aight..." The Luxray's barely audible voice responded. It was no surprise that this trial in specific took a toll on Luster...after all, he was rather close to Aubra.
Loki was also suspected to be hurting after the discovery of Inu's corpse, but no one had enough time to approach each other about anything. All that energy had to be focused on finding an escape.
"Leon." Zantai turned to wave at the jackal across the room. "I'm with you."
The Lucario nodded in reaction and quickly jogged over to his new room.
Sherwood had already approached the door to read the names out loud. "Vanta, it looks like we're roommates." He muttered through the stem in his maw.
"Laker." Rayne heaved a long sigh as she read the name under hers on the frame. She didn't even bother to let him know as she stepped inside the room. Figures, since she was the accused throughout the entire trial.
"Oy, Grace." Vince waved a friendly webbed hand at the Eevee. "Yer stuck with me. Don't worry, I don't take up much space."
Grace flashed him a weak smile in response, luckily comforted by the Greninja's attempt at being friendly.
Getting used to new roommates was one thing, but coming back to the mansion with two fewer participants was something they needed time to deal with.
Sammy didn't speak much after she entered her room, leaving everyone worried about her mental state. Everyone's thoughts were that there was a mutual agreement to not target her...but that could always change with one small choice made by one person.
Time had begun to run its course—at first, seeming like it was passing too slowly, but now things were surely going to happen too quickly.
"No hard feelings?" Laker muttered with concern to the Manectric in the room—his new roommate.
Rayne eyed the weasel with a small frown and turned her gaze to the bed. "No, I don't feel betrayal."
"Ah...right." The Weavile chuckled nervously in response. "Forgot you can't...feel much."
