Captain Y/N L/N sighed as he checked the ammo box on his sidewinder SMR, he peaked over the large piece of rubble he was hiding behind. He activated the SONAR module built into his suit's VISR scanning for decepticon soldiers and wondering how he got down here in the first place. His vulture VTOL had been shot down by seekers throwing a wrench in his plans for a hot drop at sigma point. And on top of the seekers there was the decepticons' Nemesis class assault carrier hanging above the city, being a pain in mankind's collective asses. And Now, he had to hoof it to FOB Vulcan about 3 kilometers from his current position.
'Focus.' L/N thought to himself as his SONAR finished it's scan seeing no immediate hostiles in his vicinity he moved out of his cover and broke into a sprint, his SMR scanning his surrounding. Suddenly, years of training and experience kicked in as L/N dove for cover behind a destroyed oryx class IFV just as a charged shot from a cybertronian nucleon charge rifle hit where he previously stood. To his north, L/N heard a synthesised voice scream in frustration at having missed him.
'An infiltrator.' Y/N thought to himself as there was no other way the SONAR would have missed the decepticon otherwise. Reaching down into his belt Y/N pulled out a Tri rotor drone, hitting a button on the side of the drone, Y/N let the now cloaked drone hover before he accessed his TACPAD, a device mounted on his right forearm. He steered the drone north, where he heard the scream come from, noticing a shimmer he fired a EMP dart mounted under the drone and got results as he heard another scream. This time one of pain as the infiltrator's optical sensors and cloaking field were both temporarily scrambled.
But temporarily was all L/N needed as he quickly broke cover, his suit at maximum speed accelerating him to speeds up to 72kp/h easily allowing him to cover the 700 meter distance between himself and the infiltrator, he quickly readied his grappling hook, mounted on his left hand about 200 meters from his target. He fired at the infiltrator's neck cable, smirking under his helmet at the pained yelp.
The infiltrator, still recovering from the EMP, felt a sharp pain in it's neck cables. Immediately, he realized what the human was doing and he tried to claw at the hook only for L/N to retract it himself as he grappled on to the con's shoulder pauldron.
"GET OFF YOU DAMNED INSECT!" the infiltrator yelled Trying to wrench Y/N off. Without hesitation, L/N activated armor mode and fired his SMR into the infiltrator's neck cable causing the con to roar in pain as he fell to his knees. L/N took his opportunity and used his suits gecko gloves to climb down to the infiltrator's chest plate, Y/N reached down to his belt and grabbed the standard issue C5 charges, planting one right on top of the decepticons insignia and then he used his suit's hydro thrusters to quickly dash away from the decepticon. Once at a minimum safe distance, L/N pushed a button on his TACPAD, watching with grim satisfaction as the decepticon's chestplate exploded.
The infiltrator fell to the ground, a gaping hole in his chest plate. The bright blue sphere that powered the mech now a dark as the decepticon's crimson optics finally went dark.
After confirming that the con was truly dead. Y/N turned from the corpse and activated his nanosuit's speed mode and took off. He was wasting daylight, as he moved he kept a keen eye on the energon detetector and his surroundings to ensure no more decepticons would attempt to jump him.
After a relatively long run to FOB Vulcan (and no decepticons trying to jump him thankfully) he reached the gate. Immediately, a bright light shone at him his VISR quickly adjusting itself and dimming it's intensity.
"ROMAN!" yelled one of the marines at the barricade with multiple cannons being pointed L/N's
"BLUE." Y/N replied with the countersign the light immediately turned off as the gate to the FOB opened up, he walked into the base. Going past the medbay, and armory, he stepped into the war room watching organised chaos go down, with his old friend and current CO Lieutenant Colonel Will Lennox standing at the holotable in the centre of the room with all of the other squad leads.
A holographic variant of a darkmount class fortress being displayed at the table, more specifically the shield generator protecting the fortress from simply getting bombed from orbit.
"We going for darkmount already?" Y/N asked bringing all of the attention to him. Lennox simply smiled, glad that his old friend was still in one piece before he got serious again and replied "No, not with that carrier in the sky. We're trying to devise plan B." he explained as you took a seat next to Epps.
"And plan A?" At that Lennox smirked, and you knew that it was one of his batshit Insane™ plans. "Hijack that carrier and knock it straight into darkmount's shields."
Yup. You called it. Batshit insane and extremely hard to do unless you were a decepticon soldier. And judging by everyone's looks, you were the guy who just volunteered for the job.
"I take it you have a plan for getting in?" you asked cause obviously the cons wouldn't let a vulture VTOL in one of thier ships.
"Yeah. It's a bit..... Unconventional." squad 3 leader, lieutenant Jack Darby stated.
"Unconventional, as in?" you asked, obviously not in on the method of entry .
"Well, Intel reports that a decepticon scientist: Mindwipe had recently been experimenting on human test subjects. You are going to pose as one of the surrendering soldiers to infiltrate the nemesis carrier." Lennox explained as a holographic picture of Mindwipe is shown on the holotable.

"His lab isn't in the fortress?" you asked, wondering why the he did whatever sick shit he did on board a warship instead of the shielded fortress.
"It is. Rumours have it that his lab on darkmount is holding something that scares the shit out of the cons." lennox stated as the holotable displayed darkmount again.
"Enough that they don't want even the slightest risk of humans breaking containment, running amok and freeing whatever scares them?" you asked now intrigued. Now what could scare the egoistical, genocidal bastards this bad? "Which is why command doesn't want to orbital strike darkmount until or unless we know or have whatever's scaring the cons." Lennox stated, in his eyes you could see him having doubts about command risking so much for what could be just a rumour
"Alright. Say, I get on board the carrier and into Mindwipe's lab. How do i free myself and not get kebabed trying to take the bridge?"
"Don't worry about that." Well now you were even more worried.
