We all waited anxiously for the the captain to make his decision. "You know he will pick me, you might as well go back home" Alex says, Just the sound of his voice makes me want to choke him but I manage to hold myself back since I have a reputation to maintain, I can't say the same about him "And i think you should go back to change into something more appropriate, There is no way you will get the job dressed like that." As I say that the captain comes in the room, and the whole room goes quiet and everyone's attention goes to him. "I have reviewed the case and I don't think that this is a one man job but two so I decided to make two of our greatest detectives on this job, Avery and Alex. If one of you have questions don't hesitate to come talk to me about, I will be in my office." I rush into the captains office, I couldn't stand the taught of working with Alex for more than 5 five minutes let alone weeks on end."Captain i don't mean any disrespect to you and your choice in judgement but-" Alex distracts me by whispering "Suck up" In my ear, I roll my eyes at him and continue speaking "Alex and I aren't... friends" Alex put his hand over his chest to imitate being being hurt "Everyone one knows that but you are our finest detectives and we do need you two to get along and I think this is the perfect case for that. You two have 1 week before the case take that time off to meet up and talk about it."The captain says. I walked out the room feeling disappointed, Alex nudged me on my shoulder and says "You know it's not so bad working with me who knows you might actually fall in love with me" He says with a chuckle "Touch me one more and I will kill you" I say obviously annoyed "You wouldn't, you love me to much" He smirks while saying that "Is that a challenge"I raise my eyebrows "No I wouldn't dare" He says while smiling "Anyway here's my number"He writes something on a piece of paper and slips it towards me "And don't use it for the wrong reason" He winks at me and I roll my eyes.
