She looked left and right only knowing that her surrounding was unfamiliar.
"Who are you?" Were all the words which escaped her mouth.
"Why is she asking that?" The little boy in the corner of the room said as he tugged the man's sleeve. Silence, was the only sound heard. The man and woman remained silent and did not turn to the boy. She tried to look at the little boy but he had already been lured into the screen of his iPad making it difficult for the girl to see his face as hid hood had covered majority of his face. The woman looked up at the girl. Still she said nothing, but only looked at the girl with teary eyes. She opened her mouth, but before she could say anything, the woman ran to the girl and pulled her into her embrace.
"My baby!" She cried. Her tears slowly dropped on her face. It felt like more tears had fallen now, till she realised that she too was crying. The woman tightened her arms around her. The girl brushed the woman's shoulder.
"Ma..ma?" The man took the boy out of the room and the went to the woman. He whispered something in the woman's ear, and then they both left. When the door had shut, the girl looked around. Where was she. The door opened again and she turned hoping that it was woman again or man or boy, but instead it was a lady in a white cloak, her brunette hair tied in a messy bun and her glasses looking as if it may fall off her face.
"Don't worry love, you'll be back with your family and home in a few minutes." And with that the lady gave her a little pat on the head. "You are a really good girl, you now that. The best I've seen so far on my shift. Do you want me to get you candy, dolls..."
"No, I'm alright." The woman smiled and then also left leaving the girl with a silver, glittery star sticker.
