Desire woke up rubbing her eyes, checking her phone that read '9:23'. She quickly got out of bed and got dressed. Today she was moving from New York to Atlanta, she quickly rushed around the house packing the last of her things. She took one last look around the room and took a deep breath before grabbing her suitcase and heading out to the uber she called earlier. She was ready to start a new life in Atlanta.

After 20 minutes of being in the uber I had finally gotten to the airport. I walked out the car to the back to take my suitcase out. I quickly took my luggage out and said goodbye to the driver. I rushed inside the airport and quickly made my way to the check-in desk. I waited in line for a few minutes before I reached the desk. I was relieved when I saw that I had made it just in time to get my boarding pass. I quickly made my way to the gate I was the last one on the plane and made my way to my seat. As the plane took off I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I had made it just in time, and I was now on my way to Atlanta.

..

After getting off the plane, I grabbed my suitcase from the baggage claim. Now, I was waiting outside Atlanta's airport for my best friend Laniyah to pick me up since my car was at the house I bought. She was running late, so I decided to pass the time by watching people. I saw a family of four walking together, laughing and enjoying their reunion. I felt a little upset because of the thought that I was alone. I wished I had someone to share this moment with, even if it was just for a short time. I felt a familiar pang of loneliness, but I reminded myself that I was in control of my own happiness. I breathed in the joy of the family and decided to take this moment for myself. I enjoyed the beauty of the reunion and was grateful for the reminder of the importance of connection. I got taken out of my thoughts by a horn honking, it was Laniyah I smiled and ran over to her car putting my suitcase in the back seat.

"Hey Desii !" Laniyah said flashing me her white smile and bringing me into a hug over the seat.

"Hi !" I said returning the favor hugging Laniyah back.

We drove off, the sound of the engine revving up and Brent Faiyaz blasting in the background. We talked and laughed, catching up on our lives since we last saw each other. Soon enough, we arrived at my new house. I got out the car taking my things out the back seat walking up to the front door. I unlocked the door, turning around to wave goodbye to Laniyah. She smiled and waved back as she pulled away. I stepped into my new home, feeling a sense of accomplishment and joy. I looked around, taking in the new space that would soon become my home. I smiled, before setting the things up around the house.
