A new day has come as the sun peaks through the trees ever so gently. The morning dew begins to drip off the rooftops as the forest begins to warm. Darian and Estella are sleeping soundly. Darian wakes up with a grunt as the sun begins to sting his eyes. He rolls over and sees Estella with her body pillow hugged around her tightly. He can see her round pregnant belly rise and fall gently as she breathes. Darian can't help himself and scoots closer to her. Leaning down near his unborn children, he places a hand on the warm spot. He feels them stir inside for a moment.
Estella: with sleepiness in her tone, "You always wake them up."
Darian: "They know their father is close by. You should be happy we have strong pups inside." He smiles slyly and kisses her belly.
Estella: "I just wish they'd stop kicking wildly. They're never giving me peace."
Darian: "My love, they will never give US peace once they're born!"
They both chuckle and realize it's the truth.
Darian: still rubbing her belly, "They're almost due and we haven't picked names yet. We can't procrastinate any longer."
Estella: clearing her throat, "I have already picked their names. You, my mate, have not agreed to them." She strokes his head and plays with his hair.
Darian: "We're not naming them after flowers."
Estella: "We're having twin girls for crying out loud."
Darian: "What if we name one after my mother and your mother."
Estella: "I don't want to angrily shout out your mother's name when they get into trouble. We've got to agree on these names."
Darian: "How about we let Father decide then? He gave us all strong names. He'd see it as a great honor."
Estella: "Perhaps. But.. I still say they should be, Lilly & Rose."
Darian: "We'll see what Father thinks. Then we will decide."
Estella: "You men seem to forget that we women are the ones pushing these beasts out."
Darian: Leaning up to kiss her sweetly, "You my darling, are birthing heirs to this great pack. Not beasts. No beast could come from a beauty like you."
Estella: smiling after the kiss, "We're not letting your father name them."
They begin to get out of bed and get ready for the day. Darian makes them breakfast and they share a shower as he washes her body. Their love is strong and their bond as mates is unshakable.
On the other side of the building, Allen wakes to the sound of someone entering the front door. He hurridly dawns his robe and steps out into the living room. The home is decorated with family pictures, modest and simple wood furniture he had made himself. He sees Alice trying to make some coffee and she isn't being too quiet about it. Allen leans on the doorway crossing his arms and staring at her as he clears his throat to get her attention.
Allen: "Ahem... "
Alice: looking up from the sink as she pours water into the coffee machine, "Oh hey Dad!" She smiles quickly and looks away to get back to the process.
Allen: "You didn't come home last night. I tried checking on you, but your door was locked. It's never locked."
Alice: "I uhh... was out. Had some things on my mind." she tries to shrug and continue making coffee by pouring the grounds into the filter.
Allen: "You can feel things I cannot. But you're never one to not speak to me about something that's bothering you. Are you going to tell me, or do I need to pry?"
