She sat upon her bed with her laptop on her stomach, resting rather uncomfortably. The room was dark and cold, but she was ok, she kinda liked it, the only source of light in the room coming from the screen of her laptop. She felt almost sad, couldn't quite pinpoint why, but then again she never could. Clicking wildly at some blocks on screen, she was attempting to build a castle on Minecraft.
She looked at the clock, '1:00 AM', She thought of sleep, wanted for a dream, but knew she would be greeted by nightmares, she stayed in her little block world. She felt a little safer in her little block word, building all manner of things, but she was still sad and still didn't know why, but she felt just as happy in the same way.
Hours passed, it came to '4:00 AM', she couldn't stay in her little block world forever, and she knew it, she needed sleep. Her arms and neck were stiff from sitting so uncomfortably and her eye lids were heavy. She left her little, safe, happy block world, closed her laptop, and was ready to brave a few hours of her nightmares.
The twisting shadows of her ever dark dreams tore and thrashed at her mind as she lay asleep, and she only wanted to wake up.
The sun rose, what felt like had been days had only been a few hours and she woke with a stretch, dried tears on her face. Careless of eating breakfast or greeting her family, she quickly returned to her little block world, saying hello to the others on the server. She left behind the terrors of her mind and stayed within the safety of her happy little block home. "Morning Dreamer" the others say from miles across the blocky plain.
She felt it again, a short pang of sadness, but a warm happy glow, all at the same time. She could hear her family moving about the house, but didn't care for them, but only began to build again.
"Morning everyone" she replied to the others, "How are you doing?" asked one of the others, the one she cared most for of all the others. She held a conversation with him for hours, she liked talking to him and he liked talking to her, but all good things had to come to an end.
Nightfall came again so fast, she had gone another day without eating or even seeing her family and she feared having to sleep again. 'One more night' she thought to herself, 'then the weekend will be over'. Holding this thought in her heart she left her safe, happy, little block world once again, looking forward to the day to come tomorrow, the first day back at school.
